Good God Denny save some for the rest of us. Between that and Brett it's a miracle any other man in KC got laid in the 70s and 80s.
Jason LaRue is my least favorite of all time. Owings is getting close. Half of my hatred of him is due to Ned and Dayton playing him every goddamn day
Yes. I'd actually platoon O'Hearn at DH and probably try Soler at DH 3x a week and rotate Hamilton in and out. Then when someone gets hurt I'd call Bubba up but we can't be too crazy now.
Unrelated note, I read "the Only Rule is it Has to Work" this week, about sabermetricians who take over an independent league team. The takeaway from that is that chemistry matters and i think DM places a premium on that. Looking through that lens, some of his nonsensical moves look better. Still doesnt excuse his shitty performance and makes acquisitions of Kotteras, et. Al. look worse.
Soler should DH the majority of the time. If you want to keep O'Hearn around, let him DH against a RHP every once in awhile...but he's not the .950 OPS guy we all dreamed he would continue to be. More like .750ish at best probably.
Duffy, Dwyer, Lamb, Montgomery. I’ll probably be 90 on my death bed, couldn’t name any of my grandkids, but remember those 4. And then we added Odorizzi as the 5th. Crazy how we got 2 World Series with all of that falling apart.
To be honest I blame over half of it to the Royals antiquated pitching development theories and long held hatred of long toss. But the idea of building your system on pitching is fucking stupid. DM holds on to the ideal of Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz and that is legitimately impossible to replicate.
Ok done I know you are joking but fuck it makes me mad. I want Allaird Baird back. He drafted one player worth 2x WAR of every player DM has (Spitballing but Greinke was awesome, plus he didn't have ownership support DM does)
The good thing about us taking college pitchers is that we've allowed someone else to develop them for 3-4 years, so there's that. The track record on 1st round HS pitchers is quite awful and hopefully we learned our lesson after we went HS pitcher-heavy recently. If we can get 2 of those college guys from last year to pan out and be in the rotation then I'd consider it a win. The early returns are quite good and we should probably see Singer and Kowar end the year in AA. Bubic is clearly ready for High-A with 66 K in 40 IP. Bowlan is ready for High-A as well. Numbers-wise, Lynch has been the least impressive but it's nothing too terrible. Even 5th rounder Austin Cox is having an impressive start in A ball.
Omg, I’ve never heard Hamilton speak before. Definitely need him and Mahomes to interview each other.
Joel, Monty and Hud are doing a twitter broadcast. Tarp is off and they’re going to try and squeeze that inning in at 5:30 then probably shut it down. Bring in Barlow for 2 quick Ks.
Looks like we lost 2 games by a total of 2 runs in about a 5 hour span. That’s some high quality tanking.
