Gotcha. Yea I don't play that mode so they never affected me. I played 95% online ranked or online dynasties and I don't remember any of it in there.
man idk, i took about 10 years off from gameplay, bought the last game and can't even get a fucking first down on regular mode. nothing i call ever works.
that's where your problem is. playing the game at a "high" level is nothing but calling the same 2-3 blitz packages, and running the same 2-3 plays out of a single formation and rolling out to the sideline to give the WR enough time to cut across the field and get open.
It’s become geared towards E-sports and competitive play because EA realized that’s where the money is. It’s dogshit.
ya, bought Madden 18. Fucking sucked. No thanks to the hyper realism. The slight wackiness of NCAA franchise is perfect because a lot of CFB games devolve into chaos
Are nano blitzes still a thing? They ruined the game a while back and that's when I stopped playing. And yea the "QB contain" was worthless vs a fast QB. And once he got out of the pocket all angles for the defense were dead so he had wide open windows. And they could do it every single play and your defense would never adjust. The game got to be complete trash unless you were playing a friend and you both played straight up.
Yes, but to a significantly lesser degree. A new shitty thing to do is put a super fast DB at nickel and call nickel blitzes. User LB play is by far the most unrealistic aspect of Madden, though.
I played those years of NCAA to death while in high school and it always felt less robotic than the recent stuff. There were certainly issues with the game but I definitely prefer those versions, as long as you're not playing against a cheesing douche.
Yea nickel blitz was always a thing, even in NCAA. You could stop it with a RB blocking to that side though. There was no stopping nano's though. Multiple guys came free up the middle every play.
I once played an NCAA Football dynasty through the year 2048 and I still don't know whether to be proud or ashamed of that.
I did what I had to do in order to see Alabama return to the level of dominance I've grown up hearing about. Turns out, we were going to get pretty damn close to that level of success in real life too though.
I was thinking about a new game this weekend, and I was curious how a new game might handle the transfer portal, or if they would just ignore it completely.
Yes. All they'd have to change is make any 5* that didn't play their freshman year attempt to transfer instead of the random player here or there under the old games.
The transfer system was pretty broken. It wasn't out of the norm for your hesiman candidate running back who got every carry the year before to randomly transfer to Tulane
Although I remember some pretty amusing online dynasty scenarios where a recruit that was highly sought after by multiple players ended up transferring after a year to some scrub team. Made for some good schadenfreude for the teams that didn't land him.
Or fighting tooth and nail of that 2* 99 Speed athlete while saying fuck you to that 5* 88 speed athlete
for the longest time, throwing over the middle was nearly impossible because some 75 LB would jump 4 feet in the air to snag the pick
All the complaints are what made the game fun, honestly. Loved finding good sliders online. The creation of formation subs you could do in between games was a game changer.
Having to adjust sliders to make the game playable is not good game design. It’s a sign of a shitty fucking game.
On the last one if you had a coach with the instant commit skill you could constantly offer, pull offer, offer, pull offer, repeat until he committed, assuming you were already his leader obviously.
Nah, well yes i did, but with a 15% chance to proc it didnt take that long. Looking through thousands of players in november to find those that werent being recruited took far longer. Pro tip: players at 73% never had an offer from their leader, usually no offers from anyone.
Lol ifeel like if you actually knew that stat, you'd be a better recruiter than some of the guys doing this irl
Holy shit, forgot about that dude. Wanted him at Nd bad but then I saw his pic and knew he was not going to Nd.
