Remember that NC9 scandal where the republican candidate, pastor Mark Harris, was caught in some light voter fraud and had his son dime him out on the witness stand? Well we now have a new race on our hands with a new candidate. Lets check in on Dan Bishop. In August 2017, Bishop contributed $500 toward the establishment of the social network Gab.ai, which became popular with white supremacists.[18] At the time, Bishop made a Twitter post saying that he decided to make the contribution in response to what he called "[San Francisco] tech giants' Big Brother routine," referring to a newspaper account about tech companies such as PayPal and Facebookcanceling accounts used by organizers and funders of a violent far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.[9] Bishop's crowdfunding contribution attracted attention the following year, after the murder of 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, allegedly committed by man who was a Gab user.[18]After Bishop's contribution attracted scrutiny, Bishop complained that he was being "smeared" and stated in a Twitter post, "I don't use Gab, but if its management allows its users to promote violence, anti-Semitism, and racism on the platform they have misled investors and they will be gone quickly, and rightfully so.”[18] The Charlotte Observer, responding to Bishop's defense in an editorial, noted that to accept Bishop's statement, "you also would need to believe he wasn't aware in 2017 of Gab's links to hate groups — despite common knowledge and the article he cited — and that he did he not investigate or even explore the site before giving it $500 of his money."[9] Also in August 2017, Bishop tweeted with the hashtag #Charlottesville that the "Racist, alt-right must be condemned" and equated that with the Black Lives Matter movement. When asked "Are you equating 'Black Lives Matter' with those who wave Nazi flags?" Bishop responded, "Yes. Both violent, racist movements."[19]
dan bishop was also the moron who authored the infamous bathroom bill of 2015 example #4526 of the party's total moral rot regardless of what eventually happens with trump
Another interesting Trump note that came up in my meeting yesterday that I forgot about. Two of the members have businesses that have done business with Trump in the past. One sold windows for Trump Tower. The other provides pest control services. Neither got paid, lol.
He’s just so fiscally conservative that he wanted money to actually leave our state due to the bathroom bill so our residents can pull up their bootstraps to their eyeballs.
"i am not here to talk about minor things like one of the biggest civil rights embarrassment in our state since jim crow...let's focus on discussing more important stuff like how liberals murder babies and we must build a racist shrine stretching across our southern border"
Yeah mccready sucks but shit of those are the only three questions Bishop has I might throw my hat in the ring. Those aren’t even gotcha’s, he should get dog walked by a millennial candidate.
mccready already promised to not run for senate but if he swings a +12 district, he should give it a go. i don't care if he said he wouldn't. dems need the senate even if it is candidates like mccready who arent as progressive as i would like fuck thom
46% of the popular won him the electoral last time. It matters where the votes fall obviously, but that he's capped out at 46 on the high end is encouraging. Also encouraging is that more states continue to sign up for that "fuck the electoral college" pact. I think they are 77 EC votes away from having 270, enough to effectively change the system without a constitutional amendment.
I understand that for sure. Haven't looked but also haven't seen any recent national INSERT CANDIDATE vs TRUMP polling. I'd classify PA as pretty center of the spectrum at this point, so sort of representative of a national average? I imagine that Trump's possible popular vote range is from 40-48%.
____ DEM _________ REP _________ 2000 50.6% 2,485,967 46.4% 2,281,127 2004 50.9% 2,938,095 48.4% 2,793,847 2008 54.5% 3,276,363 44.2% 2,655,885 2012 52.0% 2,990,274 46.6% 2,680,434 2016 47.5% 2,926,441 48.2% 2,970,733 Pretty balanced besides a big increase for Obama. I won't speak to the actual liberal or conservative lean of the state, but Trump winning it by <50k votes doesn't scream "more conservative than the rest of the country."
I'm trying to understand the liberal judges siding against apple. Is what they ruled not the same for the playstation store, xbox store, google play store?
