I really hope AEW can capture the feel of NXT with straight forward storylines that are consistent and make sense. Its been so long since we've seen those in WWE.
I want Charles Barkley run-ins Revive Dinner and a Movie, but with wrestling The Higher Power... Spoiler Ted Turner: It was ME VINCE. It was me ALL ALONG
As someone who hasn't paid attention to much non-wwe stuff and isn't feeling the wwe these days, I'm pretty excited for this. Hope they do really well. I plan on getting the PPV now.
One was essentially a RAW rematch. With that said most of these international taped events suck. I thought Smackdown did a good job with the Ricochet moment (makes him losing on Monday all the more idiotic) I liked what they did with KO/Kofi/Sami. And they did a nice job with videos throughout the show. Its was a decent episode light on in ring. I honestly feel that RAW and Smackdown should be more story line and less 20 minute matches or a ton of 5 minute matches. You get the characters over on the weekly show and you have the big awesome matches on the PPV when they have time. Watching a 20 minute match on RAW involves 3 or 4 commercial breaks. It takes me out of the moment and its hard to invest. On top of that the guys are throwing in a ton of rest holds to fill the 20 minutes because they want to normally give you the action matches on PPV.
You should be investing the time in NXT. Its been the best wrestling promotion for the last 3-4 years and its not close. I hope AEW does well but i'm not investing money in the b/r streaming service. I will check out the weekly product. I am curious how they balance the weekly product with the Youtube being elite channel
I've been a NXT fan for sure, but I cancelled my sub because I don't want to support the WWE product as a whole. I resubbed for the Rumble which sucked and Mania which was mildly entertaining. But I can't imagine turning my sub back on any time soon.
Network is about things from the 80s and 90s to me. In yr 83' mid south and up to 88' in Crockett. Finished Smokey mountain first.
Now if the rumored $50 price for the PPV is legit, not buying that lol, i'm getting my PPVs for $10 now... I'll be stream hunting that night.
only time I ever resub is the rumble to mania season, I can catch up on anything else I want to see from the network during that period
I have been a WWF/E guy since I was a little kid. I took a long gap where I didn't watch any wrestling from 2003ish to 2014ish. I would check in on WCW every now and then but WWF/E was my main show when I watched. I don't pay attention to NJPW, ROA, TNA or any of the other shows that have popped up during those times and I didn't give two shits about AEW being announced when it was. But I have become so annoyed by the state of the current product that I am for once really looking forward to another promotion. I will give AEW a legit chance. The alternative is possibly another break.
Seems we're the same, I have 0 hopes for the WWE until Vince is done and Haitch is in control. And I don't see that happening any time soon. But I'm not going to be a delusional fan that just takes the shit throughout the year and hopes for the best. I don't believe in bitching about the product but still watching it, rather just stop watching it and reading spoilers than suffering thru anything with Vince's finger prints on it. AEW is exciting cause it's new and unknown, who knows if it'll be good or pan out, but I'm excited cause it's "hopeful" ya know? Fuck the WWE.
Predictions for AEW first show on TNT? I'm thinking they can hit a 3.0, maybe even 4.0 with good promotion
I want Bayley to win MITB and give into her dark side by cashing in on Becky Lynch. After she wins, she gives an evil smile and pulls that stupid ribbon out of her hair signifying a character shift.
Nothing Bayley does is enjoyable for me outside of smashing in dem titties. She's boring and it wont change anytime soon.
I've been team Bayley is overrated and benefited from being lumped together with the more talented "horsewomen" for quite a while. Not saying she cant do anything in the future, but she is no main event level performer imo. Horrible on the mic and meh in the ring, not bad but not spectacular.
According to local advertising in Philadelphia, here is the updated card for the 2019 WWE Extreme Rules PPV on July 24th: WWE Title Kofi Kingston vs. Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton WWE Universal Title Seth Rollins vs. Baron Corbin in a tables match Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon and Elias in a handicapped match AJ Styles vs. Drew McIntyre As usual, the advertised card is subject to change.
Tuesday or Wednesday, I think Tuesday is what most think. The NBA TV schedule will probably dictate it. Will start in October.
I just mean week 1. I think they'll have an inflated number and possibly even beat WWE that week, but then settle down to the 1.0 range for a bit
I really have never understood what people see in bayley. She is the most average of an average looking girl and seems to have the personality of a dish rag
Looking at how Vince reacts to just normal bad numbers for TV programming, I can’t even imagine what Vince will try when they get beat by AEW any given week
Like I know the common thinking is that the competition will be good for the product like it was during the Monday night Wars but I don’t think Vince has the same mind for it now like he did then
Fwiw, I read today that TNT/AEW are hoping to get 400k viewers initially and hope/expect to build from there. But WWE trashing it up will certainly inflate that number.
Week to week I could see that being a realistic expectation. Week 1 should be significantly higher though
count me in as someone who will be exclusively watching AEW (outside of WWE ppvs) until I decide that I don't like that product either, should it come to that
good lord I hate the youtube/twitter comment patrol who run with every little rumor like it's the gospel
