Now I am sure if not Mouse they would have brought in another infielder, but otherwise it would be Shaw, Perez and Pina/Kratz every game.
It was definitely worth the long drive. Disappointing to see Hiura struggle today but he will be fine. Arcia was particularly awful but he has had a decent year hitting so far.
Missed the game last night but yikes 3 HRs in 2/3 of an inning for Burnes. He really outdid himself last night. I really like the guy and think he will eventually be very good for us but he needs a good two months in AAA to get himself straightened out.
Nelson had his best start so far 5.2 scoreless innings with 8 strikeouts. He will probably be back in the next week or two.
We must have had the bases loaded ten times this week and I don't remember scoring once. That Braun at bat was completely embarrassing swinging at all pitches out of the strike zone.
Counsell needs to get the memo that Claudio should never face a right handed hitter with his 84 mph fastball. I hate watching that guy pitch.
Hiura will be a very good hitter but he looks nervous in his first exposure to major league pitching. We desperately need him to hit to balance the lineup.
Has Aguilar hit a fly ball in the last month. All his hits are ground balls. We may need to trade for a right handed hitting first baseman at some point.
Gotta be optimistic about a 5-5 hard ass road trip and 28-21 record against the Dodgers 7 times and Cards 10 times
This team desperately needs a big right handed bat to balance the lineup. I suggest that we trade for Edwin Encarnacion. He makes 20 million this year and next year is a club option for 20 or a 5 million buyout. Seattle will probbaly be happy just to dump the contract so he should come extremely cheap. We can't afford to have Aguilar slugging in the low .300s if we want to win. Yes the Encarnacion contract is pretty bad but he can still hit and if he struggles we can just pay the 5 million buyout for next season.
Its been a long time since the last Corey Ray update so here are his stats for the season: .178 AVG, .259 OBP, .287 SLG, .546 OPS with 49 strikeouts in 101 ABs. I called this pick a bust when we picked him and sadly I am being proven right. We have done a great job drafting pitching under Stearns but we need to do better with position players.
No Yelich in the lineup again today which is probably smart since we have another off day tomorrow but we are playing Perez in RF today. Davies better be sharp because Castillo is pretty good and we don't have Yelich or Braun starting today.
Baseball is dumb Moose singles against the shift, 3 hits for him Grandal knocks one out to opposite field
What a dumb game Red get 1 hit in the T7, load the bases, almost clear them on a foul ball by just an inch Then JJ gets a strike em out throw em out after the Reds pull a Benny Hill bases running blunder
Its normal for a high draft pick to play low A ball their first full season. The most impressive stat is the high walk rate. He is supposedly very good defensively and has great speed.
Brewers Christian Yelich is batting .354/.467/.802 with 36 home runs and 90 RBI over his last 80 games played.
