Right, and in the after the episode talk for The Long Night one of the D’s even said that scene was basically the end of the Dothraki.
My wife and I sat next to her at dinner last Valentine’s Day. I can confirm she is fact just as beautiful in person.
Maybe the galaxy brain military geniuses leading the battle at Winterfell had some reserved unsullied and Dorthraki stashed away for safe keeping for the ensuing battle. They just didn't tell us about them.
It would be consistent with their battle plans that involved keeping the dragons out of the fight until the NK showed up.
It would make sense for why she would go after cersei but she didn't do that. She went after people that had nothing to do with any of that and left cersei alone
One thing I’ve been wondering from the “Just attack Cersei crowd” is how Dany is supposed to know where she is?
I’m not saying it was a binary choice. Like I don’t think she indiscriminately torches the city to try and kill Cersei. Just asking why she’s supposed to inherently know where cersei is
Wasn’t she looking directly at the red keep while huffing and puffing, and then was like....nah, let’s burn a bunch of shit bc there’s another 45 minutes left of run time
You're missing the entire point. The whole argument is that she's indiscriminately torching the city rather than try to find cersei. The fact that she doesn't even head towards the Red Keep till much later means Cersei was an afterthought to burning down peasants
Yes...I agree. As I’ve said in here before, burning the city is all about Jon’s claim and not Cersei. There’s still people saying “fly to the red keep and kill cersei.” In that hypothetical, why does Dany know Cersei is there?
Are we watching the same show? Maybe the 10+ times they've previously mentioned how cersei has holed up in the red keep has brought in innocents as a shield and how Dany's urges are to just burn the red keep and be done with the war? They've literally brought up this fact at probably every war council meeting scene
I realize that’s their assumption in war council meetings. But what’s to keep her from going to Maegor’s...or the tunnels...or anywhere. People are saying at the time Dany is sitting on Drogon on the battlements, she’s supposed to just fly over to wherever Cersei is. I understand if you’re saying you’d prefer, narratively, for her to try downing the Red Keep in the hope of killing Cersei instead of killing innocents, but that’s just not a sure thing. As an aside, I think not knowing if Cersei is dead or has escaped will be key in the last episode.
Pretty sure she'd already done that when she wiped out the iron fleet the golden company and all of kings landings defenses in a minute and 30 seconds
Again this is why I say you're missing the point. No one is saying she she should have for sure found cersei. We're saying why didn't she even attempt? You say how would she know where to look ? Its been established on the show that they think she's in the red keep and dany is aware of this and has even commented on it. The fact that she didn't go to the place where she knows cersei is most likely to be means that it was not her driving motivator. Whether or not cersei would have escaped or not been there is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand. Dany thinks she's there but didnt go after her.
I know it’s not her driving motivator. I just said that. My question is simply how she’s supposed to magically know where she is regardless of what she decides to do. Also I know the aside is irrelevant to the issue we’re discussing, that’s why I said it was an aside.
That’s a good assumption and I’m sure she would instill fear in all her enemies but she wants to instill fear in everyone not just her enemies.
Cersei is staring right at her from the balcony when Drogon is on top of the building for a second and Dany is looking up at the Red Keep, can clearly see the blonde hair
We're talking in circles here but you keep bringing this up like its some giant mystery as to her location when its been repeatedly established that she's in the red keep. Ary/hound headed to the red keep. Jamie headed to red keep. Tyrion "cersei is bringing in villagers to red keep to use as a shield" Dany "i will burn down the red keep to end cersei regardless of cost etc"
It just occurred to me that it’s safe to assume Ellaria and Tyene are dead too? I think everyone assumes Dany gets got this week, but what happens to Drogon? Do we lose the third dragon too?
Yeah they're toast. If the show wanted them to be alive and rescuable they wouldn't have introduced a new Prince in Dorne and they would have made some mention of Ellaria. They died either before KL fell or during Dany's firebombing.
They didnt, though. She started with something like 8-12k and greyworm said they lost half against the army of the dead
People are mistaking the small group Dany had with her outside the gates of King's Landing when Missandei was executed as all the remaining Unsullied. The bulk of the remaining Unsullied and Dothraki came down with Jon, not on the boats with Dany.
