Yeah it’s completely unfair to get labeled a bigot or sexist in these situations and I can tell by the threads you start and the interests you make apparent on this site that you enjoy history. I apologize if it came off that I thought you had an agenda but it just feels like a lot of people do

 

It does create other complications with casting. Is Emyhr going to be black? Are all of the Cintrians black? What about the Skelligers? Or the elves?

A big part of what makes Ciri the Queen of all Macguffins is that she’s the heir to basically every throne on the Continent, so they’re going to have to scatter POCs throughout the royal houses to maintain continuity.

I’m sure that’s how they’ll approach it. This also is probably very much a bottom line issue whereas this story could use an injection of color to sell it to a larger audience. Netflix probably sees this as their game of thrones and Martin, for all his faults still managed to have a very diverse cast of characters to put on screen.

 

The show is going to draw from the books and not necessarily the games, correct?

 

Seems like it might be going off on a path of its own. There was already a polish version tv adaptation that I think was rather faithful to the books

 

Maybe there's a recessive gene in the elder blood that governs melanin production. Or perhaps Lara Dorren got down in Ofir and Zerrakania once upon a time.

Huh, I didn't even know he was white in the comics. I can't really see anyone else in that role, I love Idris Elba.

From what I've come to understand, BAME doesn't mean specifically black. For all we know they could have some vaguely Asian girl play Ciri so people could conceivably still think Geralt was her biological father.

But even if everyone but Geralt is black so be it. I like those kinds of changes way more than changes to the personality/morals of characters. People get way too caught up in that sort of thing.

I like the Witcher! And the Wild Hund is maybe one of the coolest parts of that game! I've spent a lot of time playing it and it's really one of the best role-playing games I tried. Even Skyrim is not so cool as this stuff. I've just started reading a book on which the game was based. It's rather long but I'll handle it. I also want to pick up something alike on that Japanese video game blog I follow:

Playing through Blood and Wine right now. Enjoying it so far. Big fan of having a wine named after me and a vineyard.

 

Excellent DLC. Both were really good. Blood and Wine was great.

 

Even though I've played the game way too many times, starting a new game is always exciting. I find new things every playthrough. Haven't found another game that can really replace it.

 

Probably the best dlc a game has ever received.

 

They can take as long as they need for CP2077

 

Pretty annoyed rn. Been playing the B&W expansion for the past 4 hrs bc it wouldn't let me save. I figured I was towards the end of the main story line so I get it, lots going on so you've gotta power through. Get through everything, still can't save. Ok, maybe I can't save until I leave Toussiant. Head back to the normal main story line. Immediately jumps to cut scenes. Annoying but whatever. Finally get control and it still wouldn't let me save. Try and see when the last Auto save took place and my screen freezes. All that F'ing time wasted. Might be a while before I pick it back up.

 

Started a new save since I got an X. Looks awesome, and I forgot how good the music is.

 

Run it so you get the most FPS. Will make you wish every game had better frame rate.

 

But I can't unsee the 4K.

 

Netflix new live-action series based on “The Witcher” will launch in the company’s fourth quarter, which runs from October to December, the company’s chief content officer noted in an earnings call this week.

God damn freaking Skellige and these god damn easy to fall off of mountains. Navigating this place is hell.

 

Best music and scenery though.

 

Skellige and the storyline there is my favorite part of the game.

 

I really love Oxenfurt.

 

I’ve spent a couple hours just going through all of the question marks in the middle of the ocean. Complete pain in the ass.

Game came out 4 years ago today, and I'm still playing it. I think it might be my favorite game of all time.

Started another playthrough since I got an X. Just finished the showdown in the swamp in the last part of that Bloody Baron quest line. So damn good.

 

I just finished Blood and Wine and am on final preparation of my first game + play through. I recently got an X and have been really thinking about just starting over and playing through the main story plus the DLCs. This game is gorgeous and complex and amazing.

 

I’ve been slogging my way through Skellige question marks the past couple weeks. Fucking tedious and never enough carrying capacity.

 

Think I'm with a few people from page 30 that played the game very little upon release and deleted. Wasn't about that high-hours RPG life. Now I'm pretty over sports games having the same shit problems each year and have hit the void of Division 2 after 250hours of play. Think I'm gonna re-download this one and give it another shot.

What do I need to know going in as far as setup? difficulty? etc.
Also /hatershield/ I got a keyboard and mouse setup for XB1 - is TW3 combat fast/complicated enough to that I'd benefit from it or just use controller?

Never played more than 3-4 hours of any of the fantasy RPG game since the SNES days, until RedDead2 which I loved - Tried morrowind and skyrim and lost interest after a few hours of each.

Gonna re-download and either start tonight or tomorrow based on DL time. give me the beginners guide plox.

 

I recommend playing on the next to hardest difficulty and learning how to use everything at your disposal. The game is so much more fun with challenging combat. There’s several build guides out there but I ended up settling into an alchemy build. I’ll see what I can find on it.

I haven’t watched this but it’s probably good. I like FC

 

Learn to coordinate dodging and rolling
Do research on the specific beast/demon before fighting (potions, etc)
Play through the entire Bloody Baron story
