Anybody else have an aquarium? I had fish when I was growing up, but I recently started my first planted tank. I'd love to see other aquariums that feature badass TMBers as landlords. Here's a pic of mine to get the thread started.
Here's mine. Love fish, 60 gallon tank of mine. A lot of work with Angelfish but I love it. Angelfish = GOAT fish Also yes that's me had this picture on my photobucket already, don't care enough to blur out my face.
Also really like your tank with all the plants. Fish will love your tank with that log, plus all the cover. What are you planning on putting in it?
The tanks he had in there would have taken an incredible amount of time to maintain. IIRC he had like 10 salt water tanks.Would take hours per day to maintain those bad boys.
Looking good man - you had to do any manicuring yet? Hopefully that micro sword will take off and cover the bottom of the tank.
I trimmed the Micro Sword, but that's it so far. I'll trim the Cabomba and probably the Amazon next week.
Had a 55 gallon freshwater tank with my cousin and friend when we lived together. Moved back in with him for 6 months my last semester of college and he had a 150 gallon saltwater and the same 55 gallon freshwater tank. No pictures though
I've badly wanted to do a saltwater tank for years now but I'm still too poor to start it up. Shit is expensive as fuck.
I set up a 125 gallon freshwater with my dad before I left home for college. Bunches of Harlequin Rasboras and Cardinal Tetras (I care not for geographic purity in my tanks). Looks great. Put a red tiger lotus right in the middle of the tank, and the damn thing went apeshit. There are many more lilypads than I expected there to be coming off that thing.
Roommate had a 150 gallon salt water tank with a big ass grouper and 3 eels which was pretty badass.. then we had a bar with a 55 gallon fresh water tank built in Aquariums are cool
4 year old bump. Whatever. I feel like there is a more recent aquarium thread but I couldn't find it. I have a really low key, low effort fully planted 20 gallon long that has guppies and shrimp in it. I haven't added fauna to the ecosystem in 10 years. The shrimp (down to 2 males, unfortunately) are 12 years old. Plants growing out of the top of the tank. Anyway, this is undoubtedly the wrong board to ask this question, but I need a new plant light. Any suggestions?
so I just broke down my 300 gallon and sold it, I’m thinking of getting a Reefer deluxe 750 XXL. Does anyone have one here? Just looking for a little review on how you like it.
I have nothing but I very much like visiting aquariums. Need to have kids so I don't look like a pedo when I do visit them.
my fam had a 250 gal one growing up, thing was bad ass. i plan on setting one up one of these days but man that’s a lot of work
dallas, atlanta, and new orleans ones are sweet. boston one is okay but that center tank is pretty bad ass
The lady wants to get a 20-30 gallon saltwater tank. There's some local fish stores that we've gone to and damnit I'm intrigued.
Operationally or specifically for the fish? This was my biggest worry, but after talking to folks it isn't as bad as I expected
Fair. Found a place this weekend that sells the saltwater for right around 1.50 a gallon, which is far better than anything I'd found online. Obviously the fish cost more, but in a 20-30 gallon we'd only have 3-4
Had a 5-15 gallon one growing up, as mentioned above lived with my cousin and good friend and we maintained a 55 gallon freshwater in college. He moved up to a 150 gallon saltwater and the amount of work he puts into it is nuts. Another thing to think about (especially where he lives) is storms that can knock out power could be potentially disaster to a huge set up. While I love them, the amount of work they took was something I decided to avoid as an adult.
