Someone tell me if this TV is any good. Costco actually has it for $100 cheaper, so it’d be $499 for the 65” model. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/questi...p-smart-4k-uhd-tv-with-hdr/6290164?theme=apps
Don’t think I’d buy a TV that had some smart interface other than Roku. I don’t know anything about webOS, admittedly, but Roku is awesome.
Funny you should say that, because I have a Sharp Roku TV that’s by the pool and I fucking hate it. I’ll never buy another Roku TV.
I have the 75 inch version. Feel very upper middle class. Not cheap, but also decidedly not elite. Maybe it's an issue with my specific TV, but the HDMI ports are finicky. From time to time I have to unplug and replug a cord into the TV. I've tried multiple different cables with the same issue.
I love my Roku TV, I find myself using it over my larger (but a few years older yet still 4k) Vizio with a Chromecast Ultra
Are you guys using it with cable or strictly apps? We have DirecTV Now, and it’s noticably more clunky on Roku native than the Fire Stick.
I have a smaller lg in the bedroom and I really like the LG smart interface webOS or whatever its called Works smoother than my fire stick and feels a lot slicker than both firestick and roku
i'm about 20-30 minutes into my search for a TV, so I don't know yet what's good or not. but that certainly seems like a good purchase. it's what i'm looking for - a $400-600 55-65 in tv so i'm certainly intrigued and interested in what others/you have to say
did you get an answer to this? i'm considering similar options. everyone on the home theater forums swears by the LG OLED stuff but i think their primary purpose is for movie viewing. mine would be sports watching and i have a wall of windows to account for so i wonder if the QLED is actually the superior TV for me...
Don't. I did a Costco deal on one and I'm taking the fucking thing back today. Thankfully it was under 90 days when it started acting up.
The 6090uk is pretty low end.i dint know about reliability/warranty but it is not a great tv from a features and picture quality standpoint.
I got the Lg OLED 55” B8 a few weeks ago- this TV is great. Really a fan of the Lg interface. It was on sale at Newegg and got Target to price match.
Bump. What deals are y'all liking for Memorial Day? Specifically I'm looking for a 55" TV because of the cabinet it has to fit into. Thoughts on this one?
This is going to be a quick research and purchase for me. The optical port in the back of my current TV is broken...thanks kids. The TV is 7 years old anyway. That TV is being moved outside to the porch and gives me a reason to buy a new one for the living room which connects to Sonos. Anyway, I think I'm going to go with the TCL 6 series 55R615. Either that or the 55R617. Idk the difference other than there's about a $30 difference in price. Edit: the difference is the 17 has voice remote control the 15 doesn't. I'm going with the 15.
I picked up a 55” from them last holiday season and it’s great. My brother and his in-laws all have them now. Great value.
Looking to pick up a tv, see what appears to be good deals at Walmart. See a bunch of 65 inch between 400-600. Would like the best deal but not a piece of shit. Any recommendations?
I have the TCL 65" 6 series. IDK if it's the streaming, or picture settings, but the black backgrounds don't look great.
From Consumer Reports: Optimized Picture Settings PICTURE SETTINGS Picture Mode: *Movie Contrast: 95 Brightness: 52 Gamma: 2.4 (via Roku app) Color: 43 Tint: 3 Sharpness: 0 Color Temperature: Warm Backlight: 7 Noise Reduction: off (via Roku app) Local contrast: High Natural cinema: On TV Brightness: Brighter. Any individual R,G, or B color subcontrols, if present, should remain at their default settings. Does that make it better?
I know I had changed the settings to the Rtings settings, but their HDR wasn't very detailed. Will double check, if I remember, when I get home.
B&H has the 55” C7 OLED at $1k today. It’s the commercial version and I’m pretty sure voice assistant integration is the only thing missing from the retail version. Pretty unreal price
I've had the B8 for a little over a month now and I love that thing. It's a great picture, and I like the smart TV interface. The fancy point remote is really cool, didn't think I'd like it but it works.
Buying a cheap tv for the room without my AV equipment. Sitting 12 feet away - think it's worth $100 to go from a 65" to a 70"?
What TV is it? In a vacuum, I would say yes. Important things to consider when cutting corners or going with a cheap tv good wifi performance - my sony 830c has a terrible wifi chip which really requires it to be plugged into ethernet or a box - thankfully I have spares Usable OS or a smart tv that gets updates. - any problems or or missing features will remain missing if its not supported Apps - if you are buying it and don't have any boxes or connections to existing AV equipment - then you better hope it supports netflix, espn app, your cable cos app, etc. reread #1
It's the same vizio model, just in a different size. I just couldn't figure if I'd be able to tell a difference at that distance. My wife always tells me that 5" is huge, but she may be blowing smoke
Then I would say yes. Extra fact to consider: The 2019 Vizios actually punch above their weight when comparing the larger sizes to the sizes right below them w/r/t local dimming zones..in layman's terms: contrast ratio
