Well done to anyone who cashed in the exotics, because there was no way in hell I could have come up with Everfast hitting the board.
I threw in 10 in a couple only bc of his price but none that involved war of will. :( Him getting second ruined basically all of my bets
I posted a vid a few pages back where horse won it with no jockey. Edit: he got second. But had an awful start.
dropping a claim on the 5 in the first race at churchill. 20 mtp she's won 4 in a row and really likes a 1 turn mile. they got her off turf 8 starts ago and she is 6 wins from those 8 starts. really hope we get this one. she will be eligible for all sorts of conditions going forward.
we just put in a claim slip with the racing office and have $7,500 in your horsemans bookkeeper account. if we are hte only one who puts in a claim then we get the horse and she goes back to pish's barn. if multiple poeple claim her they basically pick a name out of a hat and then whoever's name is picked gets the horse. if we don't get her then we are going to go for greeley's charm the 10 in the 4th race. we tried to claim him at oaklawn but so did 14 other people and we got outshook
Ah got it. Are you hoping they win today or no? Was just reading an article that said you don’t want the horse you’re claiming to win
in this race it doesn't matter. if you're claiming a horse out of a race where it's a nonwinners of two races--i.e. none of the horses have won two races in their lifetime--you don't want them to win becuase then their next race they can't race back in that race. obviously a non-winners of 2 lifetime is easier than a non-winners of 3 lifetime. this race is just a $7,500.00 claiming race open to all fillies and mares and that is the type of race we would run her back in
Thought she had it there coming around the turn. Also was just checking my twin spires account and I did apparently bet on war of will to win last weekend while I was drunk. Had some unexpected winnings so this weekend is already off to a good start
haha awesome yeah she likes to sit off the pace and then close into it and they were fucking flying up top
Following this thread, used to be really into horse racing, but have gotten out of it lately. Really want to start getting back into it.
I'll throw out my look at me moment from the Preakness. I finally hit my multi-race picks and did very well. But there was still an error in my betting. I ran through the program and put my pick 4 together in about 30-45 mins. I budgeted $120 bucks or so for "A" and "B" tickets. My "A"'s were 1,4,5/1,3,6,7,8/12/1,7. I then decided to play a pick 5 with my "A's" and add in 4,6,8,9 in the 1st leg for $60 total bet. I then decided to play my pick 5 with 1/9 (who were clearly the top two horses in the first leg) on $.20 base bet for a total bet of $39 approx. Well, all my "A" horses hit and 1 won the first leg and 9 won the second leg. So I hit the pick 4, pick 5 and pick 6...Awesome! Except, somehow I did not enter the 1 on my ticket in the fourth leg on the pick 6 ticket. So that was a fuck up. I intended to play all my "A" horses, but somehow did not put the "1" in the fourth leg 4. He was the longshot that made all the tickets pay well. Maybe I consciously left him out since he was 15/1 on the ML, but I don't recall that. So my pick 6 ticket should have been $49, but it wasn't, so I did not hit the pick 6. I still hit the pick 4 and pick 5 and still did very well. I've done enough of these bets the last few years (losing almost all of them) and I know how much luck is a factor and can't help thinking I missed a chance by screwing up the pick 6. Not complaining. I did very well but it could have better 2x as good. Here's a link explaining "A" "B" and "C" horses in multi-race wagering for those who are unfamiliar. https://www.amwager.com/handicapping/papos-post/429-abcwagering
Have a horse running at lone star in about half an hour in the 8th race. Legendary Song the 7. I think she has a good shot
It has to be their track is fucked up I would not let one of my horses run there. I’ve been to the races 20 times this year and only seen one horse die and even that was emotional for someone like me who owns and loves these animals. I have no idea how anyone in California is ok with that is happening Quite a few of the California trainers moved most of their stables to Churchill Downs and will go back when the Del Mar meet starts next month
If I’m them I resurface the track over the summer when the horses are at los al and Del Mar The breeders cup is there this fall and there will be some horsemen who won’t run there for those races. I’m not sure why any grade one winner male or female would ever run there unless there
We are most likely claiming a horse in the $20k maiden claiming race at Churchill today. 2nd race. There are some ridiculous pedigrees in there
Dropped a claim on the 1 Want him to either win by a pole or get second by a nose with 3rd about 10 back
Dropping on Bode on Tap in the 2nd race today at CD. Has improved in every start. I think she will like this one turn mile. Hoping she runs a really good 2nd and that we can run her back at this condition in about 3 weeks Bodemeister filly out of a Tapit mare
we got her. she won by about 8. previous 5 races they were asking her to close and this time she was on the lead and ran 23/46/1:11 and drew off could have something there.
i'm looking at possible claiming Grace's Drama on Friday. We tried to claim her in mid May for $7,500 and I think 10 other people tried to claim her and we got outshook. She's in for $10k on Friday https://www.equibase.com/profiles/Results.cfm?type=Horse&refno=9680159®istry=T&rbt=TB
Intrepid Heart is definitely the longer priced horse I like the most, and I'm leaning towards picking him on top over Tacitus. So much to like about him in this spot. He's a more talented version of his half-brother Commissioner. Can't dismiss War of Will, but I do prefer Tacitus to him pretty significantly. I have a hard time making a case for any horse other than those three, at least to win. I hope Everfast and Sir Winston take money, since I'm way against those two. I typically don't like stone cold closers in the Belmont, especially since I don't see a ton of early speed in this field. If I had to use a closer, it would be either Master Fencer or Boubon War (and probably in that order), but I probably prefer Spinoff to either of those horses.
So a what would you do question: Belmont Stakes, You have $100 to use on one bet, what would you do? ex: a $2 TRI with lots of options, $100 to win on one horse, etc.etc.
Claims are as simple as filling out a single form and putting them in a mailbox of sort... nothing to it. Just need to make sure you have the funds in your owners account
I’m the only one who owns the horses. As far as actually filling out the claim slip at the tracks before the races my trainers assistants do that If anyone wants to co own a horse let me know
Got excited til I realized she isn’t at gulfstream anymore. If that was the case I’d throw down. If you ever look for horses down here let me know.
I’ve actually been considering actually trying to create a fund to claim horses this fall to run at oaklawn 2020
