Only you know when you're ready but don't look at it as replacing your pup or moving on from him. You're just bringing a new family member home to give him a loving life.
It is all up to you if you feel like you are ready to love him unconditionally and do whats best for him then thats the only thing that matters
So sorry to hear about your loss. There’s no such thing as too soon. You’ll never replace your pup, but your hearts have infinite love to give. Edit - or ya know verbatim what Jax Teller said
Really appreciate it, guys. We agonized over it all morning but we've decided to let some other people who had applied for him meet him. I think my wife may be ready but it's still just a little too soon for me.
Was awoken @430am today by our Chesapeake barking at the bedroom door. Went to let her out, while grumbling about "too goddamn early for this shit"...... Turned on the light to find a garbage can tipped over and a bear nosing around the top of the crates our young chickens are in. I made enough noise to scare it off before letting her out to investigate. Moved the chicks in, and made a big show of how proud I was of her. Let her snuggle in the big bed for 10 minutes. Proud dad of the best guard dog (okay, just one time) ever.
Not to brag, but our guard dog wouldn't stop barking at our motion light I just installed, as well as a graduation balloon I bought. Glad he knows danger when he sees it.
My guard dogs don't even get up when people come into my house. But they go nuts when the tornado sirens get tested every Wednesday
We found out some more background on Tyson a few days after we brought him home. We knew he was a bully breed, but we weren't real sure what exactly. It turns out that his mom is an Am Staff and his dad is a 125lb Cane Corso. We're hoping he takes more after his mom size wise, but the fact that he's 33 pounds, and he just turned 14 weeks old, today makes me think he's going to be a big fucker. He's a super smart dog, been very easy to train so far. He's made himself right at home and really fit in well with our other two dogs. anyone have any experience with Cane Corsos? everyone that i have talked to has had nothing but good things to say about them so far. edit: trying to post pics but i have shit cell service. will post later.
Our dog only barks if someone knocks on the door or hears something outside if someone is home. If no one was here and someone broke in she’d most likely either stay asleep or come out and beg for a treat. Furocious.
My pups bark every morning @ 5am on the dot to let me know my neighbor’s chow is outside peeing on our patio furniture.
if he grows into his paws and ears he's going to need his own house. my wife found this guy on instagram that's an AmStaff/Corso mix, really hope this is what he's going to look like
They know when its time for me to log off from work because they both come into my office and then so this.
thanks dump. he still has a brother and a sister that are being fostered if you'd want to make the trip to alabama
Parents are putting Casey to sleep tomorrow. His heart murmur is getting worse and has fainting spells. :(
Yes, guy I work with breeds and has no less than 5 at his house. Beautiful dogs, but absolute fucking Units. His male is the largest dog I’ve ever seen in my life. He’s going to be very large. Just make sure you and your wife really work on correction now. Once he’s full grown gonna be hard to move him. Ah and invest in some slobber towels to have around the house, you’ll need them.
He has a bad habit of not picking a spot when he rides up front in the truck. So he goes from the passenger window to in my lap and back and forth. Not the safest way to drive lol.
