saw Charley Crockett open for Turnpike at red rocks last fall. Talented guy, though definitely more blues imo.
Tyler kept creative control, same as Sturgill. "It is kind of a big move with the record still coming out on his imprint and with us teaming up with RCA to give some more muscle and legs to keep pushing Tyler and his story and the way he sees his vision growing on a bigger level and a bigger plane," said Childers' manager Ian Thornton, of the Huntington's Whizzbang BAM (Booking and Management). "It has been really great working with that team and Tyler retaining all of his creative control. It's a building up of what we have worked hard to grow to continue the story." https://www.herald-dispatch.com/fea...cle_4c1b8d37-3385-5a94-8856-9e0f61bed5ca.html
I went all in on Charley Crocket. But on the Lonesome as a Shadow album, why did he quit pronouncing the letter ‘S’?
That would make sense, or just leaning more into it for effect. He's mentioned the lisp in a few interviews and such.
You know who is a cool guy? Ty Herndon. He played a show recently where a buddy of mine got to hang out with him and do karaoke afterward. Just chillin at the bar with his boyf low key like they were just there on a regular night out.
Got my tickets to see Childers in Atlanta. I’ll be seeing him 3 times this year I guess. ForeCastle, All the Best, and Atlanta.
Damn. How did I miss his new tour this fall/winter? Almost glad Ryman dates werent announced. https://www.google.com/amp/s/zumic....ates-ticket-presale-code-and-on-sale-info/amp
followers of this thread have probably seen this coming for months now, but damn it sucks to see it come to this for them. they can legitimately make a claim as the best country music act in the world. I hope Evan reaches a point where he can get help before this shit kills him. For now I'll just be grateful they gave us 4 great albums and I got to see them live a bunch of times and hope for the best with Evan, though it doesn't seem to be trending in a good direction.
Didn’t Jason Boland used to be a horrific alcoholic and get his shit together? Seems like if there’s anyone who can get through to him, it’d be him. RT’ed
I've been waiting to see Sturgill live since Daddy Rabbit and BIGASSTITTIES introduced me to his music like 5 years ago. He did not disappoint tonight. Although it did up my desire to see a full concert even more.
I’ve been scouring the internet for Turnpike’s Bossier City album. It’s out of print and basically doesn’t exist anymore. A few of the songs are on youtube, but not all of them. I’d love to find a way to buy/download or at least listen to the album. There’s some damn good songs on there. Any ideas?
Tagging some famous recovered alcoholics to sit down and “tell him what he means to his fans “ is horrifyingly condescending
Yeah, saw him collapse on stage at River Road Icehouse in New Braunfels. They took a month off after that for "vocal reasons".
Waterloo Records has had it digitally for a while, somehow. https://waterloorecords.com/UPC/886443264274/Turnpike-Troubadours_Bossier-City
Those 5 songs were great last night, but it was nothing on 1.5 hr + show. Hopefully this new album drops soon and the tour to follow gets announced. He hasn't played Nashville since Oct 2016. I'm curious to see if he plays Ascend over the Ryman a couple of times.
Yea it definitely just made me want to see a full show even more. Soon as he's close to Nashville I'm going. I mean hell I'm going to Knoxville in July to see Whiskey Myers, I'll drive twice that to see Sturgill.
Dave Cobb produced this. It's very good, somewhere in the Americana/folk/country spectrum. Ian toured opening for Colter Wall recently.
Heard one of the songs on Sirius the other day and immediately loved it. Should’ve known it was Cobb.
