Each of these seem insane to me. With Aghs given away via the 3rd/4th rosh + these hyper-carries having the ability to farm the 6.2k for the agh+recipe to consume the item, you know you're going to see them if a game goes 40+ min. TA can split push every lane with BoTs every 30 seconds. PA can literally jump on every hero with W+Q and dispel any targetable stuns repeatedly if she crits/kills. You can literally not play enigma/void/doom against AM. AW will sit around and wait for x2 double damage. spec can single-haunt a rubick or kotl or a core and force a bkb or get a kill then force a fight/rosh/push uphill. These are CRAZY aghs.
mars in captains mode is going to be first pick/ban every game I think. IO seems way too good too. Very very excited all heroes now have Aghs, AM’s Aghs seems way too strong. Alch is gonna be picked a lot more now, fuck that hero. Also biggest change is sentries now limited, Riki, BH, late game PA w/ Aghs gonna be crazy. No one buys gems early in my pubs, that will probably change by the looks of it. Might have to reinstall again. Have been taking a much needed dotabreak
PA basically turns into Riki. Problem is PA doesn’t want to farm an Aghs, so this is really just an end game item. AM is potentially and situationally broken. TA allows for easy split pushing, but cd on it makes it seem balanced. TA also doesn’t want to farm an Aghs. Arc’s seems bad for the needed investment. Arc can better use those item slots, but it’s amazing as a 6th/7th item.
Some of the current Aghs upgrades are bananas. Axe’s AOE upgrade seems good late game, IO seems good but probably not worth the gold, and warlock, who buys it anyway, now gets a 0.4+ stun on ult for something he bought anyway.
MKs Aghs seems really good for farm acceleration but unless teamfights are prolonged the 3.5 second spawn rate probably won’t do much
i'm not suggesting that these heroes rush aghs or anything. but they're all flash farmers (PA and AM with bfury, AW with clone and two midases) that get full slotted relatively quickly and end up with lots of spare gold by the 35-45 min mark. i think you will see these aghs upgrades because, for example, that TA upgrade could be better than daedalus or bloodthorne depending on the type of game TA is playing.
This update seems to be designed to slow down deathball without making games go longer overall. Gonna be more farming in the early game with both teams just smashing into each other around 35 minutes.
-Beastmaster aghs once you have level 20 is gonna be ridiculous. We might see him as a 4 now. -Magnus' aghs is still terrible/would be better if they shortened the range and kept the speed the same. It just takes too long to get back to the target when using it on someone right next to you. -Windrunner might actually be a good mid again for the first time since like ti5. Focus fire does less damage now but you can actually use it twice in fights without an Aghs, and replace the item slot with another damage item to make up for it.
Windrunner's aghs was like a 4th choice. People seem to think she was nerfed but i think she was buffed. you'd go maelstrom, blink, and usually mkb or maybe linkins or bkb before aghs imo. Watching purge now and what he just showed with the ember aghs was unreal. i guess i ignored that one but i think aghs is actually part of the build now.
ET aghs is pretty fucking good too. spell immunity when you channel earth stomp edit: plus two bonus seconds of spell immunity per enemy hero affected
Yeah, in addition to the ridiculous fighting potential it gives you, you basically don't need BoTs or mana regen any more either. I could see many just going Brown boots>bottle>Maelstrom>Aghs now. I think the remnant range is gonna be nerfed pretty quickly. Thought so too. Pos. 3 ET might be back on the menu which I would love. Natural aura carrier already and now he's gonna really be able to jump in the middle of fights and fuck shit up.
DP aghs is really strong. i thought it was only during DP ult for some reason but just watched purge play with it and it makes DP so damn strong + hard to fight into because of her heals+slows.
Yeah, makes sense. DP is one of those heroes that really only wants items that make her tanky and not much else. The aghs does that in 2 ways with the stats + effect, plus adds damage. Perfect synergy with no opportunity cost.
Haven't played yet, but dotabuff shows Chen +7% win rate and Slark +5% win rate are big patch winners. Visage about +5% too. Drow -5%, Dusa -4%, Blood seeker and chaos knight -3% too. Alch +4% pick, -3% win rate lol Also, it's not sexy, but Grimstroke's Aghs I think is actually the most powerful and practical of the new Aghs upgrades. It scales amazingly well, and the hero really only needs a blink/force and maybe aether/euls to be relevant anyway, so It's an easy 2nd/3rd item pickup after boots. It gives you a copy of their carry that does *150% damage*!!
Also abaddon barely nerfed. Just Mist coil cast range. Gotta believe he's still first pick/ban territory for pro matches.
I guess for grimstroke aghs it will come down to what's better for the game, an aghs or a sheepstick for ult/double hex. But radiance spec/radiance alch or TB/Luna/morph against Grimstroke aghs seems like instant -25 mmr.
shit axe would probably be miserable to play against grimstroke aghs too. 150% counter helix would absolutely destroy people. You'd have to basically just not even try to kill it.
