this has basically been my only exposure to lax ever but it would seem to me that the faceoff after a score is really dumb. One guy can basically win you most games.
But the other team has the same chance to hit and score. This seems like the only sport that 1 guy can essentially not give the other team the chance to play offense
Denver had a dude a couple years ago who was a cheat code. But it's generally not the determining factor in a game
And each team has the same chance to get possession. Or you know when you are on defense you can just not give up goals left and right and get the ball back.
Alex Smith was at Delaware when I was there and he was a cheat code too. It's just silly to complain about one player having a big impact in a sport that has goalkeepers too
PSU kids probably worried about getting drug tested given it's a championship site and they were unable to get their minds right pregame
If I didn't know any better, I would think Yale is playing against one of the worst teams in the country.
Men's lacrosse kids smoke weed and generally abuse drugs at a much higher rate than any other NCAA sport I was just making a joke about that because they probably smoke all year and then have to stop before the NCAA Tourney because that's when they start dealing with drug tests that really impact their eligibility
If you look a PSU’s wiki page it says they’ve been playing the sport since 1912 with over 1000 games, but yeah you’re right looking at the result of this game and that wiki page you’d think this was a club team.
Honestly this was like watching my D3 alma mater play against the worst team in the conference whose best player would never see the field for half the teams in the conference. This has to be one of the most embarrassing first quarters in final four history in any sport.
It’s nice to see another one of psu’s mid major sports join the likes of WVB, and wrestling but I’m not sure they can sustain it and become a serious power. Hope so...
There are strategies to combat dominant faceoff guys. It's a big advantage, obviously but not impossible to overcome And also, you get runs like PSU is on as well. That goal by the faceoff guy immediately following the okeef goal gave PSU the juice to make this little run.
Yall will never be like your wrestling program in men's lax because that's just too absurd. But men's lax at PSU should always be really good IMO Huge party school. Great school with amazing programs in the fields that get kids jobs in places like NYC, Chicago, Boston and DC. And amazing resources to build with from a financial perspective. They should be able to attract a nice mix of kids from upstate NY public schools and some of the private schools in the region
penn state needs to string a couple stops together here. and i'm not sure if they can do it, based on what they've shown today. and lol at this 1 minute long faceoff
I've seen many a long face-off after the ball gets loose in my day but good lord at the length of some these in this game that last forever at the clamp. Never seen anything like it.
there was one last year in the denver notre dame game that lasted i think 90 seconds like that. it was crazy
