Phew...was sweating that one out. Still the most amazing thing is he never misses a final answer. Well once but thats crazy.
What is the protocol for spoilering posts in this thread? No spoilers needed *after* it airs live? That seems to be what happened after today's episode.
Just keep in mind that the show doesn't air in the same order as WoF depending on where you live. Spoiler it until the west coast has seen it
I’m a west coaster and I don’t care about spoilers. I don’t open this thread until I’m caught up. Pretty simple stuff.
The guy yesterday was good but if you are going to beat James you need to go all in on the DDs. I also didn't think betting $10K on the final was smart either
last night was just enthralling television. fist pumped on my couch when james nailed that daily double
10k was a good bet. He needed anything that would ensure that if he got it right he would be higher than James's current score and if he got it wrong he would be higher than the woman's score doubled and James's score minus James's expected bet It's a common strategy. Usually people just shoot for $1 more than the leader's current score
Right what I am saying is that he should have risked more to give himself a better shot at a higher payday. He could have risked about $10K more and also still been higher than James' missed final score and the girls score (she only had $1200 in FJ).
This is all I kept thinking yesterday, if JH isn't in the equation, I could have seen Nate going on a pretty long run himself. Dude was solid.
i know its been said to avoid this thread until after you've watched but at what point the day after should that embargo start again
I think this was settled in posts itt above. Basically, if you watch an episode early, good for you but don't post anything at all about it until its done airing at 7:30 ET/6:30 CT
ok good. and that should include stuff in spoilers because i am always tempted to click those and even the mere presence of a spoiler makes it seem like something big happened aka james lost
Today's show. I think we've agreed not to talk about it until 8pm ET. Remove space before 'x' https://www.dailymotion.com/video/ x79884h
This will be funny. My mom is staying at our house tonight and loves jeopardy. I’m going to Groundhog Day her and answer every question.
Flew back from the west coast once and was playing the trivia game they have on the little in chair screens. The second leg of the flight turned out to have the exact same questions as the first leg. So I sat there reading a book while also nonchalantly answering every question correctly way faster than anyone else on the plane. After like 2.5 hours of this, the dude sitting next to me finally asked how I was doing it and if I was some sort of super genius. told him “Nah, I just like to read a lot”.
Any of you that play along at home beat him or come close? I came close once. Got lucky with medicine, science and sports categories, two of which contained DD's. Missed the final jeopardy and lost.
I just feel accomplished when I can answer one he doesn't or gets wrong. But he may have tried to buzz in and gotten beat, who knows.
My girlfriend and I celebrate when either of us get one that all three contestants fail at but that's only happen once since the James run
Is anyone else surprised the judges let “Dr Dreeee” slide ? I have seen them be an incredible stickler over pronunciation in the past. I assume they let it slide simply because they knew what he was trying to do?
The general rule is that if it's phonetically sound it is OK. If it veers away from the phonics youre in trouble. One guy lost big on a daily double because he pronounced foliage "foilage". It was probably just a southern colloquialism but because it violated the answer phonetically and they couldn't find a record of its use he was out of luck.
Thanks. You can really butcher some words just sticking to the phonetical pronunciation. Bureau Noun Sour
