It's not that he is out of touch that is so incredible, it's that he uses Twitter to double down all the time and just gets dunked on every single time. tbf, I do feel bad for dunking on a guy who has knees that are equivalent of soggy scrambled eggs.
Maybe out of touch is the wrong term but it’s that he doesn’t understand that posts like that are dumb as hell and then doubles down and is smug as hell about it.
Rovell is obviously on the spectrum and normally there wouldn’t be anything wrong with that, but because of his platform he makes an absolutely ass of himself on an almost hourly basis.
When Darren bites the dust I hope that every single tweet about it is something to this effect: “Darren Rovell passed to today at age 68. The average life expectancy for a US male is 78 years old. By croaking when he did, Darren effectively left ten years worth of his salary or xxx amount of dollars on the table.”
“That’s where all this energy should be geared towards,” says man who made initial post solely about him.
Going to game two of the Stanley Cup Finals to eat a double cheeseburger (on Twitter) is so on brand for him.
He just needs to post a video of him taking penalty shots against a backup goalie where he falls down and can’t get up.
I’m sure it’s been brought up before, but the most amazing thing about Rovell on Twitter is how little he is engaged by his followers. (I don’t do Twitter so I’m not sure of the actual terminology.) He has 2M followers and very often gets less than 100-200 likes, retweets, and comments combined. It seems almost impossible to regularly get .005% activity on tweets.
Yeah he made someone else's life event about himself. He really is a selfish bastard and has been quite prolific over the years.
hate him but when the washingtonpost sends it out to 13.7million followers, the cat is out of the bag to an extent
