Off the bat I didn't think so but Kiermaier kept going back and I started to believe. Kind of a dick move by Kiermaier to fake the jump though.
Chad Green just looks awful. So weird seeing him get rocked like this. The last few years I trusted him more than anyone in the pen except maybe Bentances when he's hot. One swing and miss in 1.2 innings. Not good for a strikeout pitcher.
Michael Kay with the classic reverse jinx. "Gardner has just two hits in his last 27 ABs....track, wall, see ya!"
Only 4 healthy starters and no days off coming up. Masa, German, CC, Happ. We have Cessa and Chance Adams on the 25 but I guess they don't trust them with a start as much as they trust a bullpen day. Of course that makes its own problems with bullpen rest and no days off
I thought they should’ve given Adams a shot to start, but thankfully the pen settled down and the offense exploded. Now is the time to build a little cushion in the division with games against Baltimore, KC, and SD, before getting Boston
Sounds like Paxton and Stanton are the next guys to come back from the DL, with Didi after them, maybe by Boston series? If that’s the case, the starting rotation is obvious, but I like this lineup. 1B - Lemahieu DH - Voit RF - Stanton CF - Hicks C - Sanchez 2B - Torres SS - Gregorius 3B - Urshela LF - Frazier
I think Didi is probably 3-4 weeks out. He's just now starting spring training. And idk who is better at 1b. DJ doesn't have much experience at all there. Might be a case where DJ plays a different position every day to give the other guys 1/2 days off regularly. At l east until Judge comes back, then idk what we do. I assume Urshela will crash hard here soon so it'll make the decision easy. DJ goes to 3b and Stanton to to DH.
For those not familiar, these came out in 2014. Frazier had a pair customized into a cleat. He's done the same with a few other basketball shoes. https://sneakernews.com/2014/09/15/air-jordan-1-jeter-release-date/
Listening to Thorne, he is speculating the reason Torres and possibly Sánchez didn’t start was bc Boone/Coaches thought the Orioles would throw at them. That sounds outlandish to me
I've listened to Thorne for a long time. I feel confident in saying he was joking. His calls the last few nights were hilarious. He was at a loss for words after the 2nd Torres one last night.
Thought Happ threw well in the first game, just made one huge mistake. That woke the bats up though and Voit hit a bomb. I assume they are doing a bullpen game in the evening.
German wasn't great, Cortes pitched his dick off, offense battled back from a big hole, then Holder pissed it all away real quick.
Frazier has so much potential at the plate. If he can just manage to not be very visibly terrible in the field... Blows my mind that a decent athlete like Frazier can't look competent in the OF.
not able to watch our game this morning, but it looks like you guys had to make a pitching change after 1 inning, if i read that correct. what happened?
I know it's memorial day in the US, but why did they stop with 2 outs in the 7th for a moment of silence instead of between innings? Some significance with that exact time?
We have 3 healthy SP so we're doing bullpen games a few times a week. Chad Green, the SP today, is a RP.
The National Moment of Remembrance, established by Congress, asks Americans, wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, to pause in an act of national unity for a duration of one minute. The time 3 p.m. was chosen because it is the time when most Americans are enjoying time off of work for the national holiday. The Moment does not replace traditional Memorial Day events; rather, it is an act of national unity in which all Americans, alone or with family and friends, honor those who died in service to the United States.
I think Harvey and Hale are probably the 2 gone when Paxton and Betances come back. Maybe Cortez bc he still has options while Hale doesn't iirc. Estrada when Didi come back. Morales when Stanton comes back? Maybin when Judge comes back?
Paxton on a pitch count or did he re-injure the knee? Saw they pulled him after 66 pitches (across 4 no-hit innings).
