I didn’t mean meh to the show, I just realized that’s how it looked. I meant meh to dailymotion. Yeah I get on Sorkin kicks too, I’m right there with you.
Sports Night is so great. You'll find the laugh track they use for the first season off-putting though, fwiw.
I’ll be damned if this isn’t right on. Plus with the unicef ads every couple of minutes, this is going to be a struggle
The network forced it upon Sorkin even though he (rightly) was adamant against it. He eventually got removed.
"He's a klutz, Mrs. Landingham. Your President's a geek." "Mr. McGarry, you know how I feel about that kind of talk in the oval office."
Rewatching Gossip Girl, and the Waldorf’s get a letter addressed to them from their family estate attorney in season 3. That attorney’s name? Lionel Tribbey. What a crossover.
Other random crossover, the fiancé was watching secret life of the American teenager, and I’m almost certain the Oval Office couches are the exact same ones in the living room of the main family
Could be wrong, but I think I remember Ainsley Hayes saying that he left a lucrative practice in Chicago to become White House Counsel
I love this podcast. I’m on the road a lot for my job, so I have plenty of time to knock these out. Highly recommend
"I wanted to retire five years ago, but I waited for a Democrat. I wanted a Democrat. And instead, I got you."
Am I the only one who wants to falcon punch Amy Gardner every single time she says “Don’t talk to me” ?
The west wing weekly that covers this episode is really good. Everyone that loves this show should check it out. They have awesome guests like Aaron Sorkin, most of all the living actors, producers, directors, former politicians, etc
Just finished my second rewatch. It took me way too long and boy does it fall off a cliff after Sorkin left but I still love it
I just finished rewatching the Soprano's, think it's about time for my annual West Wing rewatch. When President Bartlet throws heat at Mary in the Pilot, just outstanding.
At its best its as good as anything thats been on tv. It also makes me hate the current political climate even more. It makes the things they complain about as partisan politics look like petty annoyances.
Throwing on an episode whenever I'm bored. I understand the circumstances, but Isaac and Ishmael is so fucking cringeworthy. Leo's just a racist out of nowhere.
I like enough of the stuff down in the cafeteria to put up with it on rewatch, but Leo being an unrepentant racist for 15 minutes and Ali just getting a "way to be back at your desk kid" in repayment always irks me, even more-so given our current climate.
Few things have aged worse in The West Wing than Charlie planning to use his tax return to buy a $499 dvd player.
