Kinda disappointing they didn't get permits for Northpoint. I want to see big box tomorrow with JJ vs Freestone. That's the final we deserve right now. Kinda disappointed Jordy didn't get to surf yesterday
Kalalau Trail to Re-Open The latest from the DLNR: The State of Hawaii – Division of State Parks (DSP) anticipates the reopening of Hāʻena State Park and Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park to coinside with the opening of Kūhiō Highway currently scheduled for Wednesday, June 13, 2019 . If the opening for Kūhiō Highway is amended, the reopening of both parks will be adjusted to follow suit. Both Hāʻena State Park and Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park have been closed since April 2018 following severe flooding on the north shore of Kauaʻi. Closure of the parks as well as Kūhiō Highway have enabled DSP to implement new park management strategies per the Hāʻena Master Plan to ensure better protection of our resources, mitigate decades of impacts to Hāʻenaʻs rural community, provide better on-site management and ultimately provide a higher-quality visitor experience.
If you are headed to Kauai and enjoy hiking, the hike to Hanakapi'ai Falls is one of the most incredible hikes I’ve ever done.
Really really really hoping they keep going. Honeymoon next July is Spain and Portugal. I know they probably won't, but I'm still hoping we'll get some good deals over there
This is the travel thread. These events are in travel destinations. HTH. Weedlord420 Main break sucks especially vs The Box/Northpointe
Literally everything is in a travel destination but we aren't asking the Clemson fans to post in here
They're opening up a previously closed badass national park in Colombia to flyover tourism https://thepointsguy.com/news/chiribiquete-national-park-colombia-flyovers/
any thoughts on buying a Canadian National Park pass online? or should I just wait? I will be leaving Calgary on Saturday (6/29) for Jasper. I'll then be driving down to Lake Louise and Banff until I arrive back in Calgary on 7/4. Also, I am renting a car. Think I'll need an SUV?
I think you should be able to 'calculate' the savings of the pass vs just paying as you go. I was only entering 1 park, so I did not buy one. In other situations, I def would. You won't need an SUV - unless you do something remarkably off the map. All the main attractions and parking lots/etc are accessible by a standard rental car.
awesome man, thank you. i'm going with a couple of friends (one of whom is fluent in spanish and goes frequently) so i'm sure things'll be pretty good but appreciate all the info. i'll be there for dia de los muertos (think i leave the last day) so really curious what i see/what's different.
You’re going to have a great time, truly one of the more underrated cities of the world especially for how cheap it is there
Main Break before today was kind of boring, but it delivered. Feel bad for Kolohe. He's probably my 2nd favorite after JJF & can't buy a win (was robbed on the gold coast). JJF is on his rail different than anyone else. It's remarkable. His last 9.5 at the buzzer was just stupid. Awesome to watch him unleash w/ the win locked up. I wanna see him surf free w/ the title in hand in France and Supertubuos
Juarez, Condessa, and Roma Norte are the best neighborhoods to stay in. All next to each other in the middle of the city. I stayed in Juarez, really liked it. Condessa is kind of the hipster neighborhood. Roma Norte is where a lot of the clubs/night scene is.
Sounds like Trump is back to banning Cuba travels I’m assuming I’m ok since we already purchased flights and airbnb reservations last week
Jealous. Going to Mexico City for my bachelor party in October. Tossed around the idea of going for dia de los muertos, but ultimately made the executive decision to go a few weekends prior due to the safety concerns of 16 drunk guys and wanting to actually be able to transit the city.
My family lives in San Angel area which is very nice but La Condessa is a good area to stay and go out. You guys looking to do cultural Stuff or party ?
Try to do Rugby if at all possible. Take the Aquabus up the River Taff from Cardiff Bay or Penarth, just an easy way to see some scenes and swans. Tour Cardiff Castle and walk Bute Park. Their University is cool. Then just spend as much time walking around downtown. Lots of good pubs (Owain glyndwr & Gareth Bale's Elevens were two I went to) and restaurants. Lots of Arcades. Everything is walkable. The one thing I didnt have time for was the day trips to the various Castles in the countryside - supposedly really cool. Welsh countryside is nice from what I saw via train. But really - Pm Taffy. He is Cardiff expert.
Someone should open a luxury raft service between the US and Cuba. For whites with money to feel authentic.
Quick top 5 things to do (I’m sure you guys will want to do other things) 1. Go check out the Zocalo you can also see the recently discovered Aztec ruins there Templo Mayor there is always lots of activity down there, presidential palace , The MC Metropolitan Cathedral 2. Get a booze boat and cruise Xochimilco, this is pretty fun and really beautiful 3. The pyramids at Teotihuacan is a must 4. Palacio de Bellas Artes/ Soumaya Museum 5. Chapultepec/National Museum of Anthropology A local nice meal that’s very Chilango is to go check out Frida Kahlos/Diego Rivera Studio in San Angel area (quick tour) then walk down the street and have drinks/meal at the San Angel Inn......last time I was there with my wife and cousins we were drinking a bottle of wine next to ex president Carlos Salinas de Gortari he was nice enough to take a pic with us
I did not do this and regret it. Everyone I talked to said it was an absolute blast (and everyone came back from the tour hammered).
July 13-16. Staying at the St Davids. Wish we were more in the center of town, but its a reunion for my wifes family so everything was booked for us. We have some organized tours but still have some free time I want to get the most out of. Food and drink experiences usually at the top of the list.
The St David's hotel? If so, that's a really nice place and even though it's not in town, it's in the bay and theres a lot to do there (plus really easy to get into the city from there).
So, looking like this is happening. Taking Arkadin 's advice, might switch to one night in Split to two in Hvar. Hear all about Luka's Lodge in Hvar, but any other recs on places to stay or must-do's in the area? Any other spots in Croatia worth spending a night to cut down on Dubrovnik from two to one? Assuming we'll just take a train everywhere.
You can't really train through croatia. I wouldn't do less than one night in dubrov. You're stretched thin already
Yeah, the hotel. So theres stuff to do around there? It looked like it was all residential on google maps. I assume uber is the best way to get into town?
Yeah plenty to do there. Nice walks, restaurants and bars, all really close. I'm not sure how big Uber is in Cardiff, probably worth a try, if not a taxi should be reasonable enough.
