All the Abrams talk has me really scared. Dude looks like a high school aged crackhead He might wind up being one of the better talents in the draft, but he almost looks like he’s 5 years away
Saying a college hitter is immediately big league ready is fucking nonsense And I’m not buying the hitch is the swing bullshit either. The numbers speak for themselves
Would be a dream but there is no way this is happening Rutschman is the best proscpect by far He was getting intentionally walked with the bases loaded this past weekend
I wish Picks were tradable for just other picks. Would allow teams to use all those comp picks to move up and make a run at the top guys.
With the MLB Draft beginning Monday, we have one more profile for you today for a possible option at number 30 for the New York Yankees. Arguably, one of the better college bats in the draft in terms of power is Missouri outfielder Kameron Misner. In their latest mock draft, FanGraphs had the Yankees taking Misner with the 30th pick as he is one of those players who can drop to the bottom of the first round. The six-foot-four left-handed hitter was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 33rd Round back in 2016, but he elected to go to Missouri. This past season, in his junior year, Misner had a slash line of .287/.443/.485 with ten home runs, 32 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases. The 21-year-old was second in the SEC in walks (54), tied for fourth in stolen bases, tied for seventh in on-base percentage and tied for ninth in strikeouts (58). (AP Photo/Wade Payne) One thing to watch with the Misner is the strikeout rate took a drastic leap up this year. It went up from 16.25 percent in 2018 to 21.37 percent this year. While the walk rate is over 20 percent, that is one of the things that he will need to work on at the next level regardless of where he is drafted. A possible reason for that could be that he has been trying different things with his swing. Here is what Baseball America had to say about that (subscription required): “Grading Misner’s hit tool will be the biggest challenge for teams. He’s experimented with different loads and timing mechanisms this spring, but he has never been able to consistently put himself in a good, attacking position. There is risk with Misner because of his limited track record, but his tools give him tremendous upside as well.” With Misner’s ability to play center field and right field, he is a player that is worth taking a chance on if he falls on draft night. You rarely find a player that can hit for power from the left side and also be a threat to steal bases. With that being said, there is some concern that Misner struggled in the SEC since eight of his ten home runs took place in the non-conference. While stats don’t mean much, it is important to note that the level of competition only gets tougher in professional ball. When we did our college preview of the draft with Burke Granger from 2080 Baseball, here is some of what he had to say about Misner along with video: “Misner is a tall kid and there is some corresponding length in the swing. He does have some of the best raw power in the class. The numbers in the SEC were not great. He only hit .222 and slugged .315 in conference play. He was tracking as a top half of the first round guy until the conference schedule started. He is a really good defender.”
Started the season with just Sixto and victor victor as top 100 kids, think we could end the season with anywhere from 5-7
So they’re doing a decent job so far Just wish there weren’t so many reports of them all being assholes
That story a few weeks backs on the front office guy who they have in the minors that’s pissing everybody off...can’t find the link And we all know Jeter is a douche
Meh I don’t care much about what disgruntled former loria people who got clipped by this new regime have to say They’ve taken us from 29th to a top 10 farm system in 2 years Idc if they are dicks if they continue to do what they’ve been doing
