Is that a nato strap? I'm not a fan with that Rolex. I have a Seamaster that has a nylon nato strap that changes out with the bracelet, and I never use it. Looks cheap to me.
I can really see how this watch thing can get addicting. I think the GMT II Pepsi is next on my list. Will hopefully be a little bit more available on the used market by the time I'm ready for it.
And I've done a bit of research into the ceramic bezel and I'm really happy I got one. I think I'd kill myself if I scratched my bezel.
How well do Breitling's hold their value? Are they still one of the more popular watches? Thinking about purchasing the watch below at auction, just not sure how high to bid. Not sure if I want to keep, or do a quick flip. Sorry about the size of the pics. Currently the high bidder. Spoiler: Breitling
Just bought this one as a beater. Wanted something with a rubber band and black face. In-house movement, sapphire crystal, power reserve indicator for $150 shipped. I've heard such good things about Orient.
By mesh you mean Milanais? See the1st post in this thread. Get more comments on that watch (due to the bracelet) than any other.
My first post-college watch was this skagen. Loved the mesh (think this is what you’re talking about) but it “frayed” and ended up having sharp points really quickly.
I like the Tudor GMT and the black bay 58 that Jorts passed on but at the price point I think I’d rather save for a speedy or seamaster.
so i'm looking for a daily wearer and like the seiko autos. the samurai is a nice diver with great lume, but seems too big to wear everyday around the office. probably need something like a sary057. any favorite sub $500 autos i should check out for daily wear? Spoiler
I really like my SKX007 (pic from google images) It’s on the smaller side of divers (I think) which works for my smaller wrist. I currently have it on a brown leather band, but as you can see it dresses up nicely with a jubilee or sportier with the included black nylon strap or a nato.
The skx seems like a classic fan favorite. If I went that route I probably wouldn’t be able to resist getting a modded version.
This is such a fantastic channel, stumbled upon it a few months ago. Anyone have any other channels they really like? YouTube is where I've been acquiring my rudimentary watch knowledge.
hodinkee's channel has a 'talking watches' playlist for celebrity watch collections, which is pretty interesting.
