If I understand it correctly, Chase sent out emails to everyone (and I guess letters to those who get paper) notifying you that you have waived your right to join a class action lawsuit at any point in the future...unless you mail them a letter in the next two months saying you do not waive your right
Reports of customer service folks telling customers they'll be axed if they opt out, but I guess Chase is denying it? Shit is ridiculous anyway. Should be an illegal practice.
if you don't feel like writing your own letter, here's a form letter (with word and PDF versions) you can use https://militarymoneymanual.com/form-letter-to-reject-chase-arbitration-clause/
Chase is preventing class action suits against them It means they can operate more in the grey area without fear of retribution from 99.99% of their clients And those who opt out have to go 1v1 against a fortune 500 company in court They are setting themselves up to be awful without punishment It's lose lose so I'm not even doing it
I hit my CIP minimum spend this month. Now I guess I'm gonna do the same as above. I'll send my wife the referral and get her second CIP.
Honestly for me the risk is not worth the reward. My chase accounts are worth $10k to me, way more than any class action would get me so not worth the risk of eyes on my account
My thoughts: Fuck Chase. This is some bullshit & should be illegal. I love free travel I pay off my balances, am a smart consumer, don't think I'll get fucked over. So I'm not going to do it.
Yeah, I think they're going to do very bad things re: missed payments, cash advances, etc but it won't get me
I just hope they don't start fucking with earned rewards. That's where they'll hurt me, but it seems like that would cause virtually everyone to cancel quickly. I can't see that happening
Everybody should have zeroed out their cash advance limits already or at least minimize it to a few dollars to avoid accidentally triggering it
Referral points posted to mine immediately after she got approved. I think it was 8-10 days after she applied. Still have to earn her bonus
If you use a credit card to deposit money on a gambling site (eg twinspires.com), it counts as a cash advance. Did that for Kentucky Derby and got hit with a nice $10 cash advance fee, and the clock started ticking on the interest right away. Fortunately chase waived it all for me when I called and bitched.
I assume you have to set up a pin and use it like a debit card or at an atm? I tried once like 10 years ago when I wanted to tip someone in cash and my debit cards strip was too fucked up and the bartender wouldn't just let me over tip her and hand me some cash from her tips. I couldn't get it to work
If my GF gets a Preferred, can she transfer her points to me so I can redeem them at 1.5x with my Reserve? Is that possible?
Got an additional 120k Hilton points with a self refer to the lowest level Hilton Amex and the purchase of a tv. Not bad. Glad that works. Now need to get my gf on a couple cards for an additional 440k and that (plus the points I already have) will more than cover our honeymoon to Spain and Portugal next summer. Thanks friends for all the advice. This thread has been a game changer
others may have better advice, but i believe so. i was told they need more time, called and was approved.
Red Rover this was my experience. can't remember if i waited 24 hours or if i called right away but i'm pretty sure i called within a couple hours
Asking for a friend (seriously). What’s the best cash back card right now? Maybe one with no spending requirement and maybe one with a bonus if you spend $X early on.
The largest cash back bonuses currently are chase business ink and Chase Sapphire preferred I believe
Ignore this. You'll have to spend boat loads of money on any of those cards to get to the bonus the other cards are offering
only reason i posted that was because he said obviously the others you get much more value. but if the friend isn't looking to spend $5k/$4k in 3 months, those are the best cash back cards
I don't know what he meant by that because the very next phrase is asking for a good sign up bonus if you spend a certain amount
Basically I was asking for a card(s) that’d be good for cash back on a regular basis. Then asking if there was a different card(s) that offered a bonus based on spending a certain amount early on. Just because my friend has mentioned doing a kitchen update, but what sparked my question was him complaining he gets minimal rewards considering he uses it for most purchases and pays it monthly.
My credit score dropped 5pts because MB Financial was bought by Fifth Third Bank. As such, they reported my mortgage closed. Fucking hate this game.
