haha oh are we really doing this? the inaugural class can include these bands animal collective bon iver the strokes Amy Winehouse bright eyes
What is this school for again? Being overrated? I don't think anyone rates The Strokes anymore, but as an entry-level alternative band, they served their purpose. At least for me. I said adios to Korn and Mudvayne and Pantera, etc., whatever other early 2000's numetal shit I was into before a girlfriend opened my musical horizons.
yea i'm pretty lukewarm on this group as a whole but they seem to be esteemed. some gems sprinkled in that discography though.
I didn't know Amy Winehouse was that highly regarded. The only thing I know her by is that Rehab song.
Strokes is good IMO. Animal collective everything sounds the same. Bon iver, boring. Amy winehouse, eh I’m not into lounge singers
he’s always been a huge douche anytime he’s back in Omaha. he acts like he’s irritated anytime he’s approached, but then gets pissy if he gets ignored. And when he performs he just talks shit about the city
I'm guessing he's saying Phoebe wouldn't work with a shithead guy after helping call out Ryan Adams as a shithead guy.
Yeah, they're obviously totally different levels. Just trying to figure out where fish was going with that one along with you.
"noisy and chaotic" had me intrigued, one song deep and this is hitting me right, hopefully it keeps up also listened to a few songs off their Magic isn't Real album while searching for this one and it seemed pretty solid too, looks like a decently sized discography to dive into
damn this is fantastic, hopefully it doesn't do that annoying thing a couple albums have this year where my high initial impressions weren't backed up on subsequent listens, get the feeling this one's safe and will likely continue to grow on me though
Black Belt Eagle Scout with a new album out in late August First track is called At the Party With My Brown Friends
Been tapping my foot all morning listening to Pile. Decided to look if they're touring. They're here on Saturday.
Had no idea Pile relocated to Nashville. METZ, Diarrhea Planet, White Reaper, Parquet Courts, Oh Sees, etc That's the type of fun you should expect at their shows
Seriously how have I never heard of Pile before with the amount of stuff they've put out? This "Magic Isn't Real" album's incredible too, bit more of a boisterous post-punk sound from their younger days I guess. A deep dive's incoming for sure.
Has anyone listened to any of the Radiohead leaks? Holy crap at the amount of content. It's actually more interesting then they let on. I am enjoying the stripped down raw versions. This is helpful... https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/radiohead-ok-computer-leak-best-songs/
ugafish are you going to see the National tonight? I will be there with my wife, probably just picnicking on the lawn if you want to grab a drink. Anyone else going?
Do you have a ticket or is this one where you can just set up outside in the grass? Definitely trying to go but haven’t figured it out.
I have tickets. I actually sold 6 on stubhub yesterday. They are going for list price and plenty available. You can sit behind the fence and listen, but I have no idea how that would be. I usually get their pretty early and just sit towards the front of the lawn behind the seats and standing area. BTW, the food inside the festival is pretty good also... https://www.bricartsmedia.org/events-performances/bric-celebrate-brooklyn-festival/eats-drinks
Tonight is sold out. Otherwise, There is no distinguishable difference besides the appearance of a Tottenham gator and a Liverpool dawg tonight.
this is the first song I've really liked by them, hopefully that's a good sign for the album as a whole
this Free Ride album's pretty neat so far only asking for a little over $2 on Bandcamp so what the hey enjoy my money kids
Its a shame Ryan Adams is such a douche. Great musician/songwriter, but didnt deserve Mandy Moore in her prime.
