No go today, glad you posted. Thought mine was either it’s down or I need to re-up the sub. This confirms it.
Quick reddit search shows that its down down. Apparently someone got a response from their paypal that they are migrating servers and will be back in 30 days. I’m going to research other options during the 30 days.
I want to say the same thing happened last year around this time or possibly two years ago. Either way, I have been looking as well for a friend of mine. I would have no issue telling them to use mystreams if I had any clue in the world how I have mine rigged up and working. I literally have no idea how mine is rigged up.
I had smoothstreams, then they transferred over to mystreams. Then mystreams was down for an extended period of time so I switched to vader streams. vader streams officially shut down, so now I'm out of options (unless mystreams is back up)
Yeah, they are all owned by the same crew as well. Suspect the names are down to legality reasons. I pretty much went the same route as you.
Reddit has a few threads on other options, but imma hold out to see if MyStreams can get it fixed. If it was football season, this would be a code red.
I got an email from Dish a few days ago that my half price special on my sports package was going to expire, so I called and asked to extend it. They gave it to me and I asked about getting HBO back. Dude said it didn't look good. He suggested I get it thru an app if I wanted to watch it.
I've done the same. I've been having to reset the apple TV as it shorts out and turns off. Seems to be an issue with apple TV's that requires unplugging per the internet. Software is up to date. Does anything else experience this?
I'm trying out installing Plex on my desktop computer and accessing via Firestick on my TV. Any of ya'll done this? Firestick seems pretty old and slow. Might need to upgrade. So far it's just spinning and spinning.
Yeah I have a Roku Premier + I use to access my Plex server. Not sure a Firestick is going ot give you good results, especially on anything HD you've downloaded.
I do it w my apple TV and it works well. An old firestick may not have the capacity to deal w that much data
May have more to do with what you have the Plex server installed on. But, the firestick could be just too old
Found out about the directv changes today. I’ll be switching services today. Saw a lot of good things said about YTTV.
They'll get it added soon I'm sure. I'd love for it to have NFLN but it doesn't yet. Still the best service and value out there.
Thanks. I attempted to sign up and it said $54.99/mo but I thought and read it was $49.99/mo. Price rose again? Edit nvm googled and that price is through Apple Edit 2 how do you not sign up through Apple
Just fyi, Sling Orange + Sling Blue + Lifestyle comes with (among a bunch of other channels and related on-demand content) VH1 and NFL Network for $45/mo. The Orange or Blue + Lifestyle is only $30/mo.
All channels stream in 60 fps on YTTV whereas the majority of Sling is 30 fps. Also, I've tested both services on my TV and the difference is noticeable.
Small distinction: Every single show/channel will not be 60fps at all times in YTTV. but I believe most sports channels have 60fps most of the time.
Thanks YTTV, you're the best!! So now that I have that, anyone know any good (completed) Showtime shows I should binge until September 5?
Unfortunately, the selection is largely meh. Doesn't come close to HBO. I think its strongest and tightest show is Escape at Dannemora.
Dump: Says my post is bullshit Also Dump: Proceeds to list all of three shows from Showtime's whole catalog... while labeling them as "good."
But, yeah, Showtime has some other "good" shows. Dexter before the last couple seasons is good. Homeland is okay. Billions is passable. Ray Donovan is adequate. And so on. However, none of them come close to The Wire. Or The Sopranos. Or Chernobyl. Or GoT. Or The Leftovers. Or Westworld. Or Curb Your Enthusiasm. Or True Detective (season 1). Etc. Heck, I'd rather watch The Night Of than anything Showtime has produced but perhaps Escape at Dannemora.
In scrolling thru all the series on Showtime I was reminded that Californication was a Showtime show. I fairly recently binged that on Netflix. Helluva entertaining show.
