There is a group of dudes in their 40s/50s who play Golden Tee religiously at like 2pm pretty much every day at my favorite divey sports bar. Apparently there is some cash prize for the best score on whatever the "course of the day" is. Golden Tee is fun but Anyway, these dudes fucking love Five Finger Death Punch, so I'm sure you would fit right in
Ok Blue's nice too, both of these are pretty much right up my alley when it comes to "heavy music" Might as well give Yellow and Green another run to see if I hear it in a different way now
Loved yellow n green but they changed their sound Purple was a let down and the production was terrible
I haven't paid much attention to Darkthrone since the 90's (same goes for Enslaved). Nonetheless, I would like for one of you to explain to me what the appeal is. I am almost through listening to their newest album and it's fucking garbage. These riffs are stagnant and go nowhere of interest. I take shits that are more interesting than this. My shits are more dynamic, have more layers (from all the fiber) and are overall heavier than new Darkthrone.
Never understood the point in bands releasing a deluxe version of an album and the bonus disc is nothing but an instrumental version of said album.
The Ocean did that with one because it was originally intended to be an instrumental album in the first place
Nuclear War Now just released a 3rd pressing of the album so you can get it for $20 with shipping from Cali instead of paying $100 for the 2nd pressing and waiting on it to come in from Germany.
I'm only 4 tracks in but this is surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because generally when you throw 3-4 girls in a band together it's inevitably going to suck. Not being sexist, that's just what metal history tells us, you Nervosa and Kittie fans can suck it. Has a nice 80's German speed metal feel.
"What's out there, Data?" "Long range sensors are detecting burnttatertot fuming about the depreciation of his 2nd pressing of this album, sir"
My job sometimes requires me to be in a truck with someone else for 2-3+ hours over the course of a workday, and by some small miracle I was paired yesterday with a dude who actually likes metal. We listened to Black Fast's Terms of Surrender, obviously
Elder's 3 song EP called "The Gold & Silver Sessions" was released today. I think it's instrumental, which is weird.
Just starting it now. I disagree about an instrumental EP being strange because if I had to describe their style concisely it would be something like "stoner metal Explosions in the Sky, but with lead guitar"
Just started this album, good so far but now knowing you like it I'm on the lookout for something really corny to hit at any moment. :)
It’s grown for sure. As I dive into their back catelog, I would say Red and blue are better albums. I am going to see them in August for sure. That new girl can shred.
It's Kampfar, it sounds like Kampfar. They've been around since the mid 90's, you've had to have heard them by now. You should know Kampfar before knowing anything about Vimur or Vanum.
The only thing I know about them is that they shared a Decibel Magazine flexi disc (I'm not even sure what that is) with Khemmis a couple of years ago. I love a good cover and the Khemmis track was sick. A true 10/10 as far as covers go
