Ya. Missed our chance to add some runs in the bottom of the 8th. Oh well. Ryu going tmrw. Buehler has been so good
That crowd cheer when Rizzo went deep is what bothers me the most about the Cubs. No other opposing team shows up to the ravine in numbers like Cubs fans.
had no idea Rich's injury was potentially so serious LOS ANGELES -- An MRI on Thursday revealed that veteran starting pitcher Rich Hill is nursing a flexor tendon strain near his left elbow, an injury that will prevent him from throwing for nearly a month and will keep him on the injured list at least into August. The diagnosis is often a precursor to Tommy John surgery, which at this point would sideline a starting pitcher until the 2021 season. But Hill says he believes he dodged more serious ligament damage and sounded confident in his chances of returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers' rotation in 2019. "Yeah, I think I'll be able to pitch again this season," Hill said. "Definitely. When that is, I don't have that answer."
agree that Smith needs to be up with the team. And Martin vs. Barnes is a tough call, but we need a better hitting option at C
The versatility of our players and their ability to perform at a high level, no matter where they've been asked to play, has been outstanding. It's that contrast that made Joc look so bad today. I'd be willing to bet that Doc gives him another chance at first to redeem himself. After taking some extra reps, of course.
Also, Beaty can stay, but the other AAA guys need to go. And eventually Smith should come up and Barnes should get traded
Kersh and Walker both give up runs in the All Star game. Seems like every year one of our guys fucks up.
For some reason, I feel like a second half swoon is coming. 70 games left to play, thinking they go 40-30 to top out at 100 wins. Just hope everyone warms up in late September.
I wouldn’t doubt it. I could also see a slow start since we are kicking off in Boston with the bottom of our rotation. At this point I just want nl home field and to be healthy.
Win or lose, nice work from Kenley. Hopefully he can bank the confidence from tonight and carry it with him in the second half.
Met a woman at Fenway last night who flew from LA to Boston and is taking a train to philly for Tuesday’s game
Nothing that can’t be fixed at the deadline. But it needs some work. Also, our playoff bullpen improves when we move starters there
Somehow the idea of a rehabbed Rich Hill coming back to the club in September does not excite me. Hard to believe he can be effective in a series against teams in the post-season who run up quality lineups.
