The number 30 pick is not worth $14mil, but whatever. We will still suck, and finish with 7 or 8;seed at best
James Edwards III from The Athletic predicted we pick Keldon Johnson, Darius Bazley and Cody Martin tonight. I could see that first round (and don't really care about 2nd round mocks). He likes Keldon Johnson more than me, but he's probably one of the more likely wings in this draft to get minutes as a rookie.
I'm actually starting to think he may be the pick at 15 unless someone really unexpected drops. They can then play safer with the 30th pick, like Johnson/Edwards/Jerome type.
I think they'll go the other way and go safe at 15 and then possibly shoot for the stars a bit at 30 if the right person is available. I see us taking someone from the Nickeil Alexander-Walker, PJ Washington, Keldon Johnson, Brandon Clarke group at 15. Those guys are easily projectable role players at worst, and possibly solid starters down the road. I can't see us swinging for the fences on a Bazley or Porter Jr. at 15, but this is a newer front office so you may very well be right.
you're probably right. I'm still hoping Snell fills that unexciting rotational wing slot and they feel like they can take a bigger chance at 15 now.
This is where I'm at. Just take young, high ceiling dudes and I'm good. No safe, "win now" bullshit picks.
Keldon Johnson seems like a perfect Piston. Has potential but lol at thinking he will actually reach it.
I don't think that's what Minnesota is looking for when they're shopping that pick, but yeah. I'd do that and then draft Coby White or Garland.
one of the NBA radio guys said they could be trying to dump Wiggins. That's probably the 2nd worse contract in the league after Pauls
I would take Langford or Alexander-Walker (if they play him as a PG). Would assume both Euros, Brandon Clarke and Nassir Little are all in play, as well.
I think this. Swing for the fences. Seems like he’ll could become a star, or just a versatile defensive player.
Could still get someone pretty good at 30. This is a crapshoot when you’re drafting so much on potential.
a lot guys that were in the conversation at #15 still on the board. Don't fuck this up by drafting for need at 30
Don't have a problem with them drafting for need there. Getting a cheap rotation player at 30 is a pretty big win from a team-building standpoint.
normally I'd agree but if Bol, Porter or Keldon Johnson are sitting there, I hope they don't take someone at PG because there's a need there
want no part of him, especially considering what should be on the board. He was bad for major parts of the B1G season
I get that, but I consider someone like Keldon Johnson to be more of a role player than an upside play. I think Nic Claxton, Johnson or KZ Okpala are the group I'd pick from, personally.
He was embarrassing to watch most of this year, and I really don't want to watch that on a nightly basis unless he dramatically changes his game in a different role.
beat writers are high on Okpala so that could easily be the pick. Crazy that so many guys mentioned for 15 in the past week are still on the board. With Drummond potentially opting out next year, Bol Bol would make a lot of sense
Bol weighed in around 200 lbs at the combine. I don't think drafting Bol would have anything to do with Drummond's future because I don't see how that kid could play C without breaking in half.
