The end results tell me the cops did something wrong in this specific case. In this case waiting would have been better than kicking the door down. Do you think you can apply a single "best" solution to every situation similar to this one?
1. He was mentally unstable and they were aware. I'm not. 2. There was nobody else involved. There was no kid. No wife. Nothing. There was nobody else for them to check on. The only person in the home was talking to them through a door. 3. They wanted to enter his home. Comparing his situation to a kid calling about being abused by their father is just disgusting. Do better.
What are you even arguing with this? How would the police know this without a welfare check? You’re telling me the police should know the details of the inside of his home from outside the closed front door? They wanted him to open the door. There is a reason you want to examine this after the fact instead of looking at it in the moment.
waiting for a family member, or a mental health professional, or just talking to the guy and trying not to agitate him. "applying a solution" = do you think your solution would apply to all similar situations (a mentally ill person calls for help then wont let we wellness check be performed)
https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/19/us/philadelphia-social-media-officers-leave-trnd/index.html The police departments of Philadelphia and St. Louis are taking action following allegations that officers posted hateful or racist content on social media. In Philadelphia, 72 officers were taken off the streets and placed on administrative duty, and in St. Louis, 22 officers have been barred from bringing their cases to the Circuit Attorney's Office.

Cliffs -4 juveniles driving around in stolen Jeep -police locate jeep and pull vehicle over -4 juveniles bail, 3 are caught, 1 jumps into a canal -juvenile in canal drowns -family doesn’t believe he drowned, marched in protest yesterday Spoiler Dozens of family, friends, and supporters staged a rally and march in Fort Lauderdale Saturday, demanding evidence and an explanation for why police failed to rescue a drowning teenager they were chasing. “The only thing I’m here for is justice, justice, and justice,” said Tequila Waters. “Nothing but justice and answers.” Her son, Damain Martin, 16, and three others were riding in a 2011 Jeep Cherokee that was reported stolen in Parkland, according to the police report. Officers spotted the Jeep and conducted a traffic stop about 5:45 p.m. on March 8 in the 5800 block of Northwest 17th Place in Sunrise. Martin and the others bailed out and ran. Three were caught but Martin ran about a half-mile and jumped a fence in the 1700 block of Northwest 57th Terrace in Lauderhill, investigators said. Sunrise Police Officer Terrance Walker fired his Taser during the six-minute foot chase prior to Martin jumping in a canal, investigators said. Martin was seen swimming away from the canal bank and treading water while officers yelled for him to, “come back, come back,” according to the police report. He went under about two minutes later while police and fire rescue personnel were throwing bags and ropes into the water from both sides of the canal, the report stated. “He was swimming since he was three years old,” Waters said. “He could swim good. That was never in question.” Fire rescue divers recovered his body from the center of the canal in about 10 feet of water by 6:31 p.m. and he was pronounced dead, police said. On March 9, the Broward County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death was an accidental drowning. There was no evidence Martin was hit by the stun gun, the examiner said. “They told me that night he died from drowning,” Waters said. “No, that’s a lie.” One witness who lived near the canal told detectives that she saw a distraught police officer on the canal bank ready to jump in the water, out of "concern for a young man’s life.” “My son didn’t deserve this,” said Waters, who moved from Lauderhill to Tallahassee to put some distance between the happier memories of her son and the neighborhood reminders of his death. She marched with more than 30 others at noon Saturday, east along Sistrunk Boulevard from the African American Research Library and Cultural Center to her mother’s home several blocks away. “Every time I have a chance to march and protest and do whatever I need to do to get answers and justice for my son, I’m there,” she said. “Get used to seeing my face.” Staff writer Megan O’Matz contributed to this story.
This is from the Eric Logan shooting in South Bend. The SBPD has sent statements out saying Logan was arrested multiple times, so what should we make about this racism claim from the officer that shot him?
I guess I was wrong. Even if he hadn't been riding in a stolen vehicle or running from the cops, he was going to drown that day anyway.
What would you consider a logical course of action for checking on a residence with their gas turned off/ have an unpaid gas bill? If your answer was a no-knock SWAT raid that ends up needlessly killing the family dog, you might be qualified for employment in the St. Louis police department. https://www.kmov.com/news/st-louis-...cial&utm_source=email&utm_campaign=user-share Seriously though, SWAT raids for unpaid utility bills?! That's fucking necessary because...?
Did the police drown him? Some of the videos I see in here make me want to puke. Some of these cops should be in prison. But, if he ran and tired himself out, then got in some water and drowned, that's a different story.
What are you talking about? The guy was looking in a car. The officer, the one with a confirmed racist past, approached him. He claims Logan attacked him with a knife and that's why he shot and killed him. There was no running or water involved.
We're talking about different ones. I'm talking about the one with the 4 people in a stolen Jeep that got pulled over and ran. One ran into a canal and drowned.
Let me say that SWAT lying about a dog attacking them makes me wonder what they would like about for people attacking/having drugs or weapons.
Our criminal justice system fucking sucks: 16 year olds have a party and got drunk Girl passes out, boy rapes the girl Films the rape and sends the video to friends with a text saying “when your first time is rape” Judge decides that kid comes from a good family so he should not be tried as an adult because he comes from a “good family” Judge also questions prosecutors on whether they spoke to the victims and her parents on the life altering ramifications this can have on the rapist. Judge also doubts that it’s a real rape because there was no weapons involved.
