Background: Actor/writer/director Jon Favreau and Chef Roy Choi bullshit around in various kitchens/restaurants and recreate the recipes from the movie. Eight episodes on Netflix. It’s pretty awesome and I’m a big fan (big fan of the movie too). Favreau is like a timid kid and Choi is like a concerned parent.
As an ATLien, I can tell you that Favreau wasn’t exaggerating about the Holeman & Finch burger being the best he’s ever had. They didn’t really hit on how amazing H&F bread is but it’s divine. Also, The Optimist might be the best restaurant in the city and that lobster roll is phenomenal.
Show is amazing. The only 2 complaints I have are - 1. The first part of episode 1. Is the worst segment of the entire show. It also doesn’t really set the show up. Someone just tuning in, not knowing the background would probably have no idea what was going on. They should have put that segment later on in the show and started with the Chef movie recipe episode 2. Cuban sandwiches have salami on them
show is wonderful. i'm sure they're on the internet somewhere but i wish the flash of ingredients wasn't <2 seconds and they'd instead put the ingredients and recipes at the end or something.
Well easily watched the series yesterday lol. Super enjoyable, only part of I didn’t like was... This, strange for the sake of being so, didn’t seem authentic at all.
This show is so damn good. I really don't know what it is about it. I think Roy and Jon are just easy people to like? Anyways, the Oyster episode is my favorite from this new batch.
I wanted to watch the taco episode but did not because I knew I would go right back to the grocery store to buy everything to make tacos/burritos.
