He tried to come back for the WC but the board said No Thanks. I can see why they'd deny that but it's not like he's been sitting on his hands. He does plenty well in the IPL.
Yeah its a tricky situation. I usually tend to agree with the Board on this. You dont want to grind for your country but you want to play in the World Cup. No Thanks. Basically like Ibrahimovic for Sweden
So many interesting possibilities for the semis - the Aussies can miss both England and India if they win their last match against SA and finish top...
Man playing 2 spinners against England on a ridiculously short boundary was a bad decision.. Equally bad was the shambles batting by Dhoni & Jadhav at the death. Ozzies gonna take #1 spot IMO.
Bangladesh with a HUGE over of 17 to get right back in this match maybe. India needs another wicket fast
Yup. I'd say they had a pretty solid tournament overall. Now that the Semis qualification's done, patiently waiting for Australia to drop their next match...
Great chase by the Bangers, and impressive tournament overall. They should be proud of how far they've come as a cricketing nation.
Love this headline from the Beebs.. New Zealand confirmed in last four as Pakistan cannot beat Bangladesh by 308 runs - clips, radio & text
Absolutely. NZ are a quality side but they have fewer match winners than the top 3 - I would be totally shocked if they somehow beat India in their semi.
Looks like I'm unlikely to be shocked - NZ already in trouble at 2/1 off 4 overs. This is going to be ugly.
I'm pissed that they let them get to where they are - the pitch seems to be quite shitty and the NZ off cutters are going to be annoying to face in these conditions. Hopefully NZ can be restricted to 235-240.
The top of the NZ order (sorry, not sure what real cricket fans call the first two batsmen) has just been absolute garbage all tournament, DLS would make the total a bit less embarrassing but even in these conditions I can’t think India has any trouble clearing 237.
True - the problem with India is that their middle order hasn't done much either. Hopefully they can finish the match today.
As much as I'm enjoying watching highlights of Australia's win in the 2003 final, this rain break is getting more and more frustrating.
dhoni = bust by now. he has lost it, think he shouldnt have been there tbqh, but how do you bench him
I think this match should be the writing on the wall - he should hang up his gloves and call it a day. As great he's been in the past, watching him today was just painful. He left it all a little too late, as with his recent performances.
Fuckin Aye. Well.. NZ performed when it mattered and got it done today - took full advantage of the swinging conditions and the Indian team left it a little too much for a little too late. Here's hoping that NZ wins it all!
Went in with the wrong team, simple as that: Wade and M Marsh should have played instead of Stoinis and Handscombe. And the batting order was a mess - leave Carey at 7 and keep Maxwell at 5 or 6. They just lost the plot.
Just like India. I still think Dhoni should've come up the order at 4 and played his recent brand of cricket - it'd have helped stabilise the innings. Again, at this point it's just could've would've should've... I just hope NZ pulls it off. The pommies seem red hot after today and will be on cloud 99.
New Zealand gets Joe Root out! If NZ wins this, the bowling they have showed int the last 2 matches, UNREAL
