what do you guys think about this scenario if Marner was offer sheeted at 11x5?

If that happened and I were the leafs, I think I would turn around and offer sheet Timo Meier or Kyle Connor at 9.5. The sharks/jets would probably struggle to match as they are cap crunched, and the leafs would come out with a Marner for one of the 2 players + 2 first round picks + 1.5 in cap space swap.

I think I would take that trade in a heartbeat.

Marner getting one has been a topic for a while, but this is mainly hypothetical. also:

Devils GM Ray Shero on possible 2019 offer sheets. "We all know what the CBA is. There is no gentleman's agreement. F--- that s---. When people say that, it's a lazy narrative, I'll tell you that. "

Depends which team does it, you need at least one of the first to be top 5 if you are toronto. and that would ruin both gms.

It’s not a gentleman agreement it’s old hockey people thinking that the rules are not good enough for them and their dinosaur mentality. You fuck me over and there is no way I will answer the phone when you need to unload a contract.

Galchenyuk has issues but that is a good trade for Pitt

 

Kessel is the better player but 3+ mil in cap space makes it a good trade, not sure why Arizona wants Kessel.

Joseph is a decent prospect and galchenyuk looks almost done but Pitt is one place where he could turn it around. Easy win for pitt

Considering the lack of leverage they had due to Phil’s NTC, this is an impressive return for the Pens imo

 

wonder what the Islanders would have to do to make that work. They could probably barely squeeze in those 2 this year but then they have Barzal coming up next year who won't be cheap, and not a lot coming off the books.

 

It's the NHL where the GMs help other GMs with cap relief, but get pissy with offer sheets.
