Betty was cute (she is 18). Sad that her and Ned aren’t a thing anymore. Gave me hope.

But nothing can top ZenBAEya and Marisa ToBAE though.

Peter making his suit made me tear up as did any mention of Tony

Good to see CoBAE Smulders back

Awesome film. Awesome tie ins to past IM movies. Just awesome. Will watch a 2nd time in theaters

Nick Fury in the comics was notorious for using LMDs to the point where nobody even bats an eye when "Nick Fury" dies anymore because its revealed that it was only a LMD that was killed. Also S.W.O.R.D. is the space version of SHIELD, stands for Sentient World Observation and Response Department. The 2 most famous storylines involving SWORD were "Secret Invasion", aka the Skrull invasion and "Dark Reign", where Norman Osborn took control of the MCU world.

The airport arrival scene at the end makes me wonder if they have a plan for Flash in future movies. Absentee parents leading to substance abuse leading to Agent Venom we can hope.

    Saw Far From Home.

    Thoughts:
I enjoyed it. However I (think) I prefer Homecoming if we are comparing the two.

Homecoming had a condensed feeling since Parker being in Queens, dealing with foes locally, growing and learning with a substantial suit — the sequel felt larger in Peter growing as the leader, Tony not there to bail him out anymore, and of course the vast size of Europe in comparison to well, Queens, you could feel the “with great powers comes great responsibility” line overshadowing the film but never being said — then he has to make that choice to be a kid, or be the hero. Really cool dichotomy.

Some parts between the second and third act seemed to drag a little for me. I thought the dream sequence with Mysterio lasted just a tad bit too long, but not big deal. Parts of that sequence felt like Rey’s dream when she first touches Anakin’s lightsaber in The Force Awakens.

Since this franchise seems to be predicated on major twists, I did find it amusing how Quentin Beck was just some guy. Anyone who knows a little about Spider-Man should have been well aware that Mysterio would end up being the villain, but how he did it was interesting.

The Vulture being the dad in Homecoming still remains one of the all-time goat twists.

I’m probably contradicting myself since I just stated how I enjoyed the Mysterio twist, but did anyone find it a little diluting that the final battle was Spider-Man vs. a bunch of drones? Idk I question that.

Overall it was an entertaining film, and I thought it was better than Captain Marvel, if we’re comparing 2019-released films.

    Question time for y’all:

    1. So is vultures daughter just not in the story anymore?

    2. Is Mysterio dead? Or was that an illusion the entire time?

    3. The elemental — or one of them, was that a mix between hydro-man or no? I’m not sure really how to phrase the question properly, but from the trailers it seemed like that’s who it was.

I think Gyllenhaal’s physical character is dead but I think the guy with the glasses downloaded all of the files before he bolted and uses them in the future. Hence the mid credit scene

    1. I think I saw they said she may return in the future or is signed on for more movies. Thought is she might come back as a villain.

    2. Edith said he was dead when Parker was wearing the glasses so no illusion.

    3. It was a nod to hydroman, molten man, sandman for comic book readers but they were all illusions. None of it was real.

It does kind of suck that from the first trailer everyone could tell Mysterio was pulling a “syndrome” and that’s what happened. It was really well done though. You knew the turn would happen when Spidey gave him the glasses but the holographic room melting away was cool.

I love how Mysterio looked exactly how you thought he would. Just like the comics, no major changes.
