I saw them in Richmond few months ago and he was definitely very wasted but not nearly that bad. He did disappear from the stage for an entire song

 

Looks about right but he sounded 100x worse than I've ever seen.

 

Btw, the new Randy Rogers album is pretty solid.

 

What i dont understand is why cant they lock him in the dressing room for 3 hours before a show

 

I’m really into this Ryan Bingham album. Jingle and Go is a great song

 

Because he’ll probably die if he doesn’t drink for that long.

They could be legendary if he could get his drinking even half under control.

Evan needs some serious help and if not touring is the first step, good. Go take a year off to clean up your life and come back

 

Agreed. I was surprised and honestly a little annoyed when they announced some new shows the other week.

Not sure if WM still considers themselves Red Dirt at this point, but new song. Album out in September.

 

Maybe I’m missing out but it doesn’t seem like there’s many great new red dirt bands. I started popping through the Texas Regional chart and everything sounds like top 40 country from 6 years ago.

Joshua Ray Walker has been a great find for 2019 but man going through the list has been depressing. Chad Cooke Band sounds like one song from being country top 40, or maybe I’m just wildly out of touch.

 

Rightly or wrongly, to me it seems like the onset of Americana kind of swallowed up all the momentum Red Dirt seem to have 5-10 years ago

Was listening to some old school REK by the pool. Forget how good some of these are

 

Last time I saw him live his band sounded like an old man hippie jazz band

He needs to get with Jason isbell. He turned around some major problems to get to where he is.

 

Yeah, when I read about M&TMP newest record, I was all about it. A country band playing with a symphony at Abbey Road? Sign me up.

Then I listened to it and got disappointed. Something about their sound is so...slick. The lead singer has no edge whatsoever.

It’s unfair to Mike and the Moonpies to try and push them into the void left (for now) by TT. Big fan of the Moonpies, but what they do is different than TT.

 

This is the main point. Completely different style and sound

 

He recorded this before his breakdown or whatever we're calling it, but just out today. It's really good, which just makes it all the more frustrating.

 

Going to see Randy Rogers Band in Chicago tonight.

The Powell Brothers are opening. Listened to 3 songs earlier and turned it off so I'm going to skip them.

 

Got Jason Boland tickets for February. First time in a while. Super excited

 

Got here and saw the last 20 minutes of their set. They were just ok but the bassist was wearing a pair of red beats headphones and that might be the most douchey thing I've seen in awhile.

 

They played at a top golf here a couple weeks ago. Strong show
