I'm saying you really have no idea if the group in front is playing 9 or not. So when they aren't on 10, how are you supposed to know they are in the clubhouse and coming back?
150 with an 8. Don’t make fun of me for being a short hitter. Spoiler make fun of me for using emojis and posting a snap chat. As for the turn. If I’m a solo, and the group hasn’t let me play through I’m jumping them at the turn if I can. But if I’m in a group I don’t generally try and skip at the turn, unless the group in front is extremely slow or dropping a second ball on bad shots etc.
You can if you’d like but I can track them so much better than white ones. It’s what I did after the photo.
Right. I typically play by myself or as a twosome due to my work schedule. I don’t always hit the clubhouse, probably 50% of the time, but I frequently get stuck behind the noon group starting around 7-9, so it really doesn’t do me any good to skip 1 group. But how is anyone to know how long a group is going to sit on the clubhouse and who is taking it to the parking lot? I’ve seen guys make the turn and sit in the clubhouse for an hour during the summer. I do subconsciously feel it out in my head as I don’t really care to be a single stuck in the middle of the daily dogfight. I read on another forum about the first group of the day getting pissed about being passed at the turn or not letting singles and doubles play through due to some weird hang up about being the first group out for the day.
All this talk about etiquette of groups playing through makes me realize just how much most people would hate my course. I’m a member at a muni in a smaller town so it’s great because I’ve never made a tee time, can get on whenever I want as a single or double, and it’s generally not crowded except for a few prime times on the weekend. I’ll go out a couple times a week after work and there are people out there that will skip all over the place if they catch groups or are trying to hurry. There’s a point where 4 green is by 7 tee so you’ll see people flip there a lot, but there’s several other places that make it easy as well. Usually the people doing it are pretty mindful and won’t jump in front of a group or anything but there have been some pretty big annoyances as a result
Looking for Iron suggestions. Currently playing mp-54’s and looking for something a bit more forgiving as I play very often anymore (1-2 times a month) probably still play to an 8-10 HC.
Was in a rush this morning and realized I forgot my golf shoes when we got to the course. Was wearing flip flops so had to wear my buddy’s Vans that were about a size and a half too big, shot 82 and won $22.
I stopped playing golf for about four years (kids) and just started up again this spring. I was shooting to an honest 8 pre-hiatus but haven’t been able to get it going yet this pass. Aside from a decent round over Memorial Day weekend, I’ve been playing bogey+ golf most times out. Ironically enough, my short game is still decent but my ball striking is just god awful. I’m losing 10 shots per round off the tee. I feel like I know what’s going on and have been working at the range for a few weeks. (Probably 1000 balls off grass in the last two weeks and one sore elbow.) It just hasn’t translated to the course yet. I think today may have been the breakthrough session though. Even the early warm up was slotted right and the big mistake wasn’t as bad. After adjusting, everything was just smooth. Here’s hoping it follows me on Tuesday during my weekly men’s league. /csb of every weekend golfer ever
No. That's the club across the road from where you were working when you were here. Not far from my club.
In the LPGA event this week in Green Bay they gave a sponsor exemption to a 20 year old local girl. She shot 96 - 103.
