The movies being shit has nothing to do with my opinion of Garfield + Emma Stone being the best Spidey couple.
yeah Spoiler the fake backstory in front of the real backstory was a good approach and felt appropriate for the character, and yeah the sequence leading up to him handing over the glasses seemed kinda slow/draggish. like maybe they felt it necessary to hit it over the head but it slowed the movie down too much. but yeah people should have expected mysterio to be the villain. it's a spider-man movie after all. if the character isn't spider-man, then it's likely a villain. the thing is, mysterio doesn't have any super powers to fight with other than props and crap to create illusions, so using the drones to fight with was appropriate
they were good, but really the current combo is way better. and the shitty lizard/electro villains in the garfield films hurt those films. still, garfield >>>>>>>>>> tobey and topher as venom was garbage.
Yes, Tom Holland is a better Spiderman Yes, Homecoming and Far from Home were better movies. That has 0 to do with how good of a couple Garfield/Stone were compared to Toby/Dunst or Holland/Zendaya. And for the record, Emma Stone was the best female lead in any Spiderman movie and its not really close.
Spoiler maybe for people itt who know about all This shit. Gf went with me Tuesday and she was shocked when he “turned” bad.
I was not hyped for this movie. I went opening night. I could tell it was good.... just couldn't get into it. I think I loved phase 1 too much. I guess I'm done. Understand this es a phase 1 cap but, whatever. Just not pulled in anymore I guess.
I think a lot of people are going to go through this. So much invested in the story and characters that are gone. It will take time for people to develop that for others. I trust Fiege but he better do something quick. Slot of people just aren’t invested or interested enough in the current left over roster outside of BP and Spider-Man.
Spoiler end credit scene from homecoming is interesting now. Scorpion wanted vulture to tell him who Spidey was. Now everyone knows. This could also bring Liz back in the mix as she may blame peter for doing this to her fam. That would of course be dumb, but I’m sure the writers could make it make sense.
I think when it came to Infinity War and Endgame, a lot of the viewers weren't folks who go see every MCU film opening night/weekend. There will still be plenty of folks invested and continue seeing them, there will just be spikes in the box office when it's an Epic
Good call, they could try to bring her back as Black cat but that... It would be kind of weird I'd everyone he knew became a hero or villain suddenly
Spoiler Now that everyone “knows” Peter Parker is Spidey, I hope a storyline in the next Spiderman movie is SHIELD/SWORD/Fury trying to help Peter Parker disprove what Mysterio said and make it seem like he is not actually Spiderman. Then they have a big press conference at the end with Peter Parker, and he gets up on stage with his notecards to explain how he isn’t Spiderman, but instead he sets them down and says, “I am Spider-Man.” I doubt they’d ever actually do that, but I think it’d be cool. And if you don’t, then fuck you.
Spoiler The only time I remember him being revealed is during ‘Civil War’ which ended up being a disaster. Highly doubt he ends up begging Mephisto to destroy his and MJ’s relationship/lives to get out of this. Really curious where it goes.
Spoiler Just got out of a viewing and this might be unpopular but I didn’t think this movie was all that great. The first hour was a bore. The second half was better, I loved the fight scenes with the alternate reality. That was so well done. Not a big fan living in a world where we have no idea what we can trust as legit. Gonna be a tight wire to walk.
“You don’t have it yet. I’m sorry.” “WHEN WILL I KNOW IM READY!!!” “You won’t Miles, it’s a leap of faith, that’s all it is, a leap, of, faith...”
“200 miles per hour with a blind fold on, my momma asked where did I go wrong (took you long enough).....what’s up danger? What’s Up Danger!?” “I see this SPARK inside you it’s amazing, whatever you choose to do it will be great...You’re the best of all of us Miles, you’re on your way, keep going” “When do I KNOW I’m SpiderMan?” “You won’t Miles, that’s all it is...a leap of faith...” “Like, what’s up danger? Like what’s up danger? Like what’s up danger?????????????????? CANT STOP ME NOWWWW!!!!”
“You know I’m older than you, 15 months, but that’s significant to me” “You know...Einstein said that time was relevant...” AKA dump at Dallas area Chuck-E-Chease.
And clearly, Thor's entrance to Wakanda is bonechillingly awesome and Thor since Ragnarok is one of the undisputed top MCU characters. Just speaks to the power of those other two scenes. I regularly get choked up thinking about What's Up Danger, and Cap with Mjolnir is an in-theater masterpiece.
In theater with my 4 year old: “Where’s hulk he can beat Thanos....”. (Hulk gets his ass kicked) Tears....what about Captain America or Spideman? Can they beat Thanos? That fucking scene: “ITS CAPTAIN AMERICA BEHIND THAT TRAIN!!!” Gat Dam
Y’all overrate the shit out of spiderverse, it’s a great movie but it does not fuck with the MCUs best moments
This is just wrong. A moment that takes ~20 movies to build to obviously is going to be epic. Spiderverse managed to do it in one go. Comparing it to the MCU culmination movies is dumb, if you compare it to the first of the various MCU franchises it shines brighter than all of them.
