Club Pro Guy is #1 by a mile the Max Homa episode from 2018 the Trap Draw (separate podcast feed, same guys) episode where they do a deep dive on Tiger Steve Elkington
I'm new to the NLU crew, drawn in by the California tourist sauce bit. Enjoy it but Tron's vocal fry is off putting.
I’ve been on the NLU fanboy train for a long time. There are a lot of really good pods in their old stuff when Soly was recording via phone over in Europe. Pretty sure all episodes are available too so if you really want to dive in you could go back through their episode history. Lots of Euro player pods mixed in there for a while
I went on the site and didn't get that message yet. They just showed my application. I'm sure the rejection is coming soon.
Really? I’ve never won, but I’ve had friends that have won, mostly practice round. A good buddy got Sunday tickets through the lottery a few years back. I’m sure it’s become even harder now that everyone applies.
I’ve heard that if you apply for every single session, your application gets de-prioritized (to ward off resellers). But I have no idea if that’s actually true.
Granted, I don’t keep up with a lot of people’s Masters application status (and I have no social media), but my regular groups have never won. Being in Atlanta, there’s a glut of tickets around. I could probably go every year and have been twice, but I’ve never won my own tickets.
I hit 2 Wednesday practice round tix back in 2003. I have not hit since 2003 and forgot a few years to enter. So 1 of about 12. Just got my rejection notice. My theory was that priority went to guys who don't reside in GA or SC, but I recently played golf with a guy from Aiken, SC who has hit practice round tix 5 of 6 years. No idea how that is possible. He said he registers for every day. On another note, I did get chosen for the women's tourney the Saturday before.
Although Soly and Tron are the two that really started NLU. They are my least favorite. Don't get me wrong...I still like them. It's just that I like the others more. My ranking of most likeable/funniest... 1. Big Randy 2. Neil 3. DJ Pie 4. Soly 5. Tron
Big Randy is by far the funniest. Btw...my exposure to them is thru everything they've uploaded on YouTube. I've probably only listened to maybe 2 podcasts of theirs ever.
Tron certainly has a schtick, but for someone with a schtick he actually does it incredibly well. I tend to agree with his opinions more than anyone else’s. Soly is an awesome interviewer. A bit try-hardy on the course though. Neil and Big Randy are awesome in the video series. DJ Pie adds a level of professionalism to the whole thing.
Their content production shot thru the roof after he came onboard. He’s also caddying for Soly at US Am qualifying this morning. Interested to see that scorecard...
Agree basically with all this, but I also agree with Jigga that Neil is better in small doses. Soly is nearly scratch and getting lessons from the guys at Altus Performance so I'd imagine he's trending but I don't expect him to get through
