Watched it other day on Netflix, I feel like I’m missing something since everyone else seems to put in the upper tier of movies. The movie was entertaining, but comparing it to Marvel top moments never crossed my mind.
Spoiler Spidey holding the sign and the piece of the drone at the tower was a cool homage to Cap holding the shield and hammer being worthy
Granted I've never been a huge spider man fan but I love Homecoming and Far From Home. Watched Spiderverse but like you, I don't get the fawning over it. Mid tier MCU movie for me.
I laughed audibly at the Nightmonkey - Peter Tingle was good, but Nightmonkey was elite. No interviews, please respek my decision
Far From Home was good, lots of great comedy in it but Spoiler I hated the credits scene. I feel like revealing the secret identity of a character is always the beginning of the end for a character because its really hard to put that bullet back in the gun. We'll see how they handle it but I'm not optimistic
As far as I can recall Peter was the only MCU hero left with a secret identity. That's just not a priority in this franchise and it's clearly not been a problem. That being said, Pete was basically outed by the MCU's Alex Jones, so who knows what'll stick or how they'll play it
I'm hoping JJJ is more than just a MCU Alex Jones, JK Simmons is good enough of an actor to pull off the sort of depth that Jameson was in the comics.
Iron Man 2 and 3 were considerably more shitty than 1. The story is always the same after the secret identity is revealed. Some bad guy will now go after his family or the people he loves, how will he stop them! Marvel, DC, its always the same story. With Spider Man its even worse since he's a kid.
The rest of the MCU don't live at home with their Aunt. Half of them don't even live on Earth. Ant Man may be the only character that is even close as a comp for Spiderman.
Are the Accords still a thing in the MCU? Or are we just assuming the superheroes can do what they want again after they brought back 3 billion people?
Loved that they brought JK Simmons back as JJJ. Thought FFH was good not great. First half of the movie was meh plus waayyyy too many jokes fell flat. Movie got infinitely better starting when Spidey got caught in Beck's augmented reality beatdown.
Bootlegged the movie yesterday at home with the wife, pretty good streams out there Humor was slightly forced, Mysterio was a great villain until drones, so sick of drones in movies. They are just mindless CGI fodder Ending was good
Just how often are you watching movies with drones in them? I don't think I'm watching enough drone content in my films.
