My current guess, assuming no further moves Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha AA - Filppula - Hirose Helm - Nielsen - Zadina Abdelkader - Glendening - Ehn de la Rose, Turgeron DeKeyser - Hronek Nemeth - Green Ericsson - Daley Bowey Howard Bernier First line: duh Second line: Hirose knows how to play with AA and Fil can provide nice support defensively for those two Third line: Helm can get the puck for the other two; Nielsen can get the puck to Zadina Fourth line: Yawn Grand Rapids Svechnikov - Veleno - Puempel Smith - Rasmussen - Elson Kuffner - Pearson - Terry Pope - ??? - ??? Lashoff - Lindstrom Hicketts - Seider McIllrath - Kaski Seider can play 18-19 minutes a night and run the first PP pairing in an effort to develop his offense.
Do we expect this to be an upgrade, or is Stevie just getting a former teammate in that he's more familiar with? I'm not sure we'd ever even notice an upgrade at this position, just curious.
I know he's the fucking man, I just didn't know if he was the fucking man at being the director of Amateur Scouting
He’s been involved with scouting for almost a decade now. Based on interviews he’s done he’s very progressive in his thinking. I think it makes perfect sense.
If Cholowski is starting in GR, I hope Seider goes there and let the two play together. Also gives us the option to play him a couple games for experience when inevitably half our defense gets hurt.
The Athletic wrote an article about the teams with the worst contract efficiency in the league, and not surprisingly, the Wings are dead last. I actually feel like this belongs on the MurderedByWords subreddit. The writer pulled no punches when discussing exactly how bad things are right now:
33rd pick in 2013, looking at his career stats in the lower leagues, he looks like he showed potential to be a scorer and enforcer, but it looks like he's really only been given the chance to be a 4th line type guy.
In the Montreal BTS draft video Bergevin has Seider as the 11th overall player in the draft. They were at 15, but that's probably some good evidence that Yzerman was right in that he wasn't going to be able to trade down very far and still get him.
You can see his list somewhere in the video, forget where it is exactly, but someone on reddit paused it and wrote it out.
"Bergevin's Draft List as seen on the table in the video, edited slightly so as to be read." 1.Hughes2.Kakko3.Zegras4.Byram5.Turcotte6.Krebs7.Boldy8.Podkolzin9.Dach10.Caufield11.Seider Bottom left: 12. Cozens 13. Broberg 14. Krebs or Knight 15. Kaliyev
Prospects tournament starts Friday but we still haven’t announced our roster. Kakko will be there so it should be nice to see Seider get some time against him.
Prospects tournament starts today. Love that first line. Hirose-Veleno-Zadina Givani Smith-Gregor MacLeod-Ryan Kuffner Troy Loggins-Chase Pearson-Jarid Lukosevicius Thomas Casey-Elmer Soderblom-Chad Yetman Alec Regula-Moritz Seider Charle-Edouard D'Astous-Lindstrom Marc-Olivier Duquette-Owen Lalonde Fulcher Romeo
You ever been to it? Seems like it'd be kinda cool to go to. Plus you never really need a very good reason to go to TC anyway.
It's a fun time. Gets decent attendance. And like NFC said, it's a great excuse to go to TC in the fall.
Seider says returning to Germany is the least likely option this year. His goal is to play in Detroit or GR. Clearly playing in GR is best for all parties. I just hope it happens.
Wings are playing in the finals of the Prospect tournament tomorrow. Veleno and Seider have been great. Zadina can’t buy a goal but he’s making plays.
The podcast I’ve been listening too tells me not to be concerned. He’s getting opportunities as creating plays for himself and others. Just needs to finish his shots.
Veleno has 7 goals this tournament, including two in the last few minutes to put Detroit up by one in the third period of the title game.
From what I've seen, Veleno dominated the tournament. Hirose apparently looked great too. Saw someone say Zadina had a good tournament but looked snake bit, but appears like hes on the edge of a breakout
Zadina needs to stay in GR to get some momentum on his side. Put him with Veleno and Puempel and let them work.
Camp opens Friday. I expect a fairly milquetoast Camp but I do have a nagging feeling that Steve will do something surprising before we break for the regular season. The options on the table: 1. Waive Abby 2. Waive E or Daley 3. Trade Helm 4. Trade Glendening I don’t think Abby gets waived yet but his time is coming. That said, here is what I think happens leading up to our opener. 1. Daley goes on IR to start the year for one injury or another Bert - Larkin - Mantha Athanasiou - Nielsen - Hirose Helm - Fil - Erne Abby - Ehn -Gendening de la Rose, Turgeron DeKeyser - Hronek Nemeth - Green Ericsson - Kaski Bowey Howard Bernier GR Puempel - Veleno - Zadina Terry - Rasmussen - Svech Smith - Pearson - Kuffner Pope - Ford - Elson Hicketts - Seider McIllrath - Lindstrom Lashoff - Saarjarvi Pickard Larsson
