My sources are telling me: Horford is going to Dallas Russell is going to Minnesota Kyrie and KD are going to Brooklyn
Think it depends on whether Davis is PF or C in a given year. Center may actually be the toughest since there's only 3 spots.
I do find it funny that unless Bill employs a dozen people capable of talking nba, but unless he can get Rusillo he just gets a drunk joe house on
KOC had the audacity to push back on Bill’s inane “I like players who win!” stuff on the All NBA pod and was relegated back to the Ringer G league team
hot take: a post free agency podcast is more fun with house than any of that actual smart nba people. i just want takes and house taking shots at the knicks and other dumb people and him getting simmons fired up for simmons to take shots at people. i don't want the smart people to analyze every signing. these are incomplete teams six hours after FA opened.
I want the Lowe pods a week from now I want the House pods last night while I drink and play videogames. Its all valuable.
House is a perfect third wheel. He should be on with someone who knows more than he does, but he can still chime in with jokes and drunk takes.
would rather listen to house or jack o than anyone actually employed by the ringer. most of them are insufferable. have probably listened to every jack o podcast for like the last decade
I wish House would disagree with Bill just once ever. He's a fun guest but literally every NBA topic includes House saying "you're a thousand percent right Bill Simmons"
time to buy stock in "The Celtics are a move away", we are hearing that in every single pod for the next 6 months
I'm currently trying to talk myself into Russell Westbrook at his contract being a not terrible idea because my team might trade for him. Talking myself into Kemba doesn't seem nearly as hard.
his thing about going to watch sports in public is insane with that job i'd have to be Lowe-style and record it
I asked him about that, he said he doesn't drink at the bar during football seasons on Sundays but he only has "4 tvs" at home, so he needs to go to the bar to watch games lol
only when it's something where the Celtics or anything Boston related doesn't benefit. Otherwise he's fully committed to the "How do you do fellow kids?" woke millennial whisperer act.
This is the first Mallory Rubin Rewatcheable I’ve enjoyed. I think not having Bill on there kept her toned down.
you mean his deep dive with Lowe on youth sports injury concerns predictably centered around his daughter's soccer career didn't satisfy you?
So absurd when he brings this up. Laughed quite hard when Lowe was discussing how he would approach Ben Simmons asking for a trade
Lowe is my favorite sports writer/podcaster. His insight is great, and he is thoughtful and well reasoned on his takes, but he can be funny occasionally too. Bill is a talented interviewer when focused, but Boston sports, his son who he allows to be a disaster, and somehow his daughters youth soccer exploits ruin him for me too often. This is coming from someone who actually enjoys his daughter on the pod when he brings her on with something topical like when she was on with Bo Burnham for his movie 8th Grade.
Bill is a caricature of “sports parent” in many ways, but at least he has the sense not to put kids through a bunch of AAU crap and consider long term effects with wear and tear. I will say that old schticks like always drawing parallels back to the NBA are getting tiresome now too. I almost like him best when he interviews non-sports people.
"Why did Dwyane Wade have injury issues??" idk how neither of them ever read about Wade's meniscus at Marquette
Uh yeah dude...why did wade have injuries...at Marquette? Ever? About a month ago russillo and Simmons after befuddled by the concept of load management.
