Not hard, I plugged it in to the router, hit the learn button on the garage and it was fairly straight forward. You setup the app with an account and then login to the app and it will control the garage. I haven't used it with a non chamberlin opener, but with mine it was simple.

Should definitely be robust enough for us, as Luca doesn't shed. Figure worst case, I return it. Should have just ordered it without feedback fro the wife, as the white model had sold out

I can assure you there is no nicer counter top decoration. We've had ours for 4 years and my wife hasn't used it once.
at least the old kitchen aids, i've heard some of the new ones have added some plastic mechanics, last foreevveerr ours gets used a lot and that thing is 12+ years old

Those fermentation kits are a ripoff. All you need is an airlock, foam plug, mason jar & lid. Spent less than $5 on my setup
I use the rubber lids w a nipple for the small mason jars. Air lock for the bigger ones I use for kimchi and kvass
