I also saw a trailer for The Farewell when I saw Midsommar, looks like it could be this years big A24 awards season movie. I very much want to see a trailer for The Lighthouse.
I’m likely to need skin grafts after I watch this: "Filmed on 35 mm black and white Double-X 5222 film stock, augmenting the Panavision Millennium XL2 camera with vintage Baltar lenses designed in the 1930s. To enhance the image, making it resemble early photography, a custom cyan filter made by Schneider Filters that emulated the look and feel of orthochromatic film from the late 19th century was used." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7984734/trivia?item=tr4201260 "The film has an aspect ratio of 1.19:1, an almost-square frame that was used in the early sound years by filmmakers including Fritz Lang and G.W. Pabst. They choose the format because 'the spaces in this movie are meant to feel confined, it's more of a close-up movie than The Witch. The idea of widescreen only came about in the 1950s - we wanted to take people back further than that.'" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7984734/trivia?item=tr4546284
How have you seen it? I would assume preview screenings begin tonight in DFW for release this weekend.
Actually rewatched The Witch recently The Lighthouse actually looks better, or at least more up my alley
Last Black Man In San Francisco was pretty good took me a bit to get into the style but the last 30 or so minutes were great
Finally saw midsommar. Loved it, a little long but I loved all the build up, creepiness and the build up. Kind of wish they would have tied the religion to hereditary some how. Also would have loved to see the dude get eagled!
Very excited for this movie. No trailer yet, but it premieres at a film festival this weekend. Should have a trailer soon. December release date
I watched last night. Top 5 film I've seen in 2019. I'm kind of upset this film didn't get more buzz.
It's what Fargo would have been if it took place in a rural white trash alabama town. One of the crazier movies I've seen this year, and definitely one of the funniest.
I think a lot of people will enjoy The Lighthouse. The aspect ratio and use of sound and lighting help make it a really great theater experience. Dafoe is so fucking good in this movie, Pattinson does a great job as well. One of my favorite movies I’ve seen this year, and I think I like more than The Witch.
My theater had a poster advertising The Lighthouse was coming soon. It’s been two weeks and they don’t have it still
Watched The Death of Dick Long last night. Probably one of the weirdest films I've seen since Swiss Army Man.
