Played a little early in the season then disappeared. Probably was going to get recruited over. Don't really know too much. Some rumors of maturity issues but nothing crazy
I'd rather Memphis have to think about the last couple of years without a chance to play us. Let it stew. But I'll obviously take the home game no matter what.
To be honest I'm completely stumped by the Memphis love. They lost their best players and Brady White sucks. And their coach is a choker. King is the best QB in the league and even though I don't like the Dana hire I think UH rolls the west.
Agreed. Not sure what Cincy has but I have to think with what we lost they have to feel better about this year than the last 2 years to steal the east. The east in general is full of trash and rebuilding programs.
Vegas has Cincy at like 6-7 wins this year. That seems low to me but I don't know. If Temple didn't lose their coach I might think higher of them.
Time to tear down the statue. “I feel like it was personal. I can tell you a little story about it,” Shaquill Griffin told SINow. “Actually going into camp that same year, we cut it. He was just like, ‘I don’t want to see your hair outside the helmet.’ “We have a lot of players whose hair is a lot longer than ours. So I was OK, it just won’t show. Me and my brother folded our dreads in half and put rubber bands around it, so it was like just really short and it didn’t show. So I was like, ‘We did what he said, we should be good.’ "And he came back and said, ‘I don’t want you to fold your hair, I want you to cut it.’ “So that’s the part where OK, maybe this is be a little personal because you said you didn’t want it to show out the helmet. We did exactly what you said. At this point, he told me if you don’t cut it, you won’t play and the same for your brother.” When the twins were asked whether they thought O’Leary’s instructions were a power move, Shaquem Griffin replied, “For us, I feel like it was very degrading. He pushed us in certain ways that could be un-explainable. It’s hard to explain what the reason was behind it, but it was very degrading, but it made it us stronger. It brought us more together. It brought us to a point where we were going to fight our way out. There’s no way we’re going to stop or quit on each other. We can’t allow him to win. “Because even if he thinks he’s close to winning, we can’t allow him to think that. We can’t allow him to feel like he can break us because you can’t break both of us when we’re together.” https://www.orlandosentinel.com/spo...0190718-n7ozdtc2zna7rl7sa2dqiqvyu4-story.html
Brandon’s got pictures week by week from that season that show no change in hair length. Kinda smells like it might be bullshit. OTOH, if GOL can deny kids water to win games, I don’t see why the twins can exaggerate a tad to sell some books. So..
When he was getting drafted I remember him bringing it up in an interview too. I dont know, perhaps it's a bigger deal than i realize and maybe they were prompted but personally I just think who cares and move on from it. Its hair. If you join the army you gotta get a buzz cut...
It’s not that simple for a lot of the AA and Caribbean community. For a lot of those folks, their hair is one of the only things that is exclusively theirs in culture with everything else having been torn away from them during the slave trade. They don’t know where their ancestors came from, what tribe they were from, what their culture was. But they have their hair. That said, I think the evidence shows the twins are embellishing a little here, but I don’t doubt that GOL was being a dick about their hair and making a fuss telling them they should cut it. They may have even cut an inch or two, but it’s not like what they’re making it out to be seemingly.
yeah i mean i know its likely a culture thing, and i will just never understand that being a white guy with shitty curly hair instead of those amazing locks. i have plenty of things though that i value and would be pissed about if it were demanded i take them away. part of it to me though is just like "why is this a story again?" seeing as how loudermilk was a clean cut boy because of oleary before and in general hair demands have been in place under him since he got here. i have a feeling it was more the sentinel or whoever just probing them for that info and them just telling them again rather than anything else so its hard to blame them for keeping it up.
So we (UofSC) just installed this guy Robert Caslen as our 29th president over massive outcry from students/alumni/faculty that he's not qualified and that it's a sham railroaded through by the governor for political purposes. I see he was at UCF "chief accountability officer to oversee the reformation of the finance and administration operations at the school". Do yall know anything about him? Wasn't there some financial controversy down there recently? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_L._Caslen
There was talk of him being interim president but not much more out there about him. He wasn't here too long so don't think anyone here has much to say about him. Seems like an odd hire.
Even if he was here for the "controversy" that whole thing was political bullshit. They used leftover operations funds to do the horrible thing of rebuilding an old academic building that was falling down. The horror. But apparently this was against a minor state rule that was blown out for political gain. Don't know anything about him but I wouldn't be worried about the controversy.
It is. We're not the Citadel or VMI. It's transparently a political move by our Republican governor. I'm pretty pissed but what can I do. They had all the faculty united in a massive protest against it and it still got pushed through.
Not only that, they then changed the rule to allow for it after UCF got in trouble and UF/FSU started to be investigated for the same exact thing.
Single game tickets are on sale now. USF is sold out. FAMU gonna be tough to sell at $45 when resale is going for $10.
I guess the only tickets we have are the 200 or so seasons left over, plus what FAMU returns? Did they set aside tickets for single game sale specifically?
https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...football-again-after-his-horrific-leg-injury/ crazy he just walks around without crutches
I think he is crazy but whatever he needs to do for his own mental and physical health he should do. Would be amazing if he came back and could be even 80% the QB he was before.
A deal that lets him go back and forth between the celtics and their g league affiliate. You can only play a certain number of games on the NBA roster while on a 2 way.
I enjoy the monthly meltdowns on Twitter we cause the media. UCf scheduled a home and home with FIU oh the horror.
I don’t think that’s the issue friend, maybe don’t whine next time you get left off the playoffs when you are unwilling to schedule good teams
i mean we have pitt and stanford on the schedule this year, not that they're blue bloods but we still schedule decent. it just suckes that hurricanes have different agendas than us.
i mean honestly i want to play big names instead of fiu and all, but i get the logic behind why we do and why we take the stand too. monetarily speaking we aren't in a place to take the hit really by giving up 2 for 1's, but i'd like to see us just bend a bit every once and a while on it.
I think it would help in the long run, especially with where your program is at right now. It’s time to take that step forward. If you wait too long the program might not be as good as it is right now. It only takes a bad hire or two
others will argue it further, but honestly i just wanna see a good schedule. i get that the finances don't work for us though, but i don't think our "respect" goes down by taking those deals for now. the gators deal was crap though.
I don't even get the backlash from the national writers. So now we shouldn't schedule any games at all? I mean fine fiu is fiu but Danny has been clear and you still need to fill a schedule. It's just one of the many in state games we've played every single year.
