I almost feel as if the picture is better on YTTV than it was with DirecTV. I'm sure its just in my head. I'd like to try PS Vue but my Sony account is locked up for some reason.
This^ I know when I watch a channel via Sling compared to that same channel on YTTV it is always noticeable.
Watching the ball game and yes this is definitely better than Directv picture quality wise, sound may even better too.
Is there any way to check the frame rate for a particular app on an AppleTV? I’ve always felt like there was something off when watching basketball games through the ESPN app. I didn’t realize some apps were dialed down.
YT and YTTV have diagnostic overlays inside of the video player. I assume this is for all platforms. Look for "Stats for Nerds" in the app or Google for more info. Stats for nerds has extensive diagnostic information about frame rate, resolution, dropped frames/buffer health, codecs, etc. No idea about ESPN app itself. I *believe* most ESPN content will stream at 720p60. I just turned on ESPN, playing WSOP, and it's at 720p60.
Finally decided to cut the cord this week. Sticking with Fios for internet but went with PlayStation Vue and bought Roku’s for the rooms with TVs. Hope it works come the fall.
Are you sure? I just looked in my app (no NFL network) and online and it says PS Vue is the only one that carries it.
I know, I am kind of disappointed. I've been enjoying YTTV, but it seems like PS Vue is geared more towards the sports fan anyways with pretty much all the same channels.
It has every other league channel NFLN is useless unless its the draft or you want preseason games and the one game a week they show that is also simulcasted onto whatever NBC/CBS channel they decide on or you really want what former players say on your TV
I watched 4 games simultaneously on YTTV with normal internet connection in my apartment with no issues during football season. I have heard about and witnessed connection problems with the other services.
the only difference I see is RZ and LHN tbqh RZ can easily be streamed for free and LHN is cool for the one football game they show unless you are big into Texas athletics
No, Sling has it as well. Also: *Didn't include locals because that varies so much market-to-market, but generally Sling has the fewest of those. I think the best streaming service for sports depends on what conferences/teams a person follows.
You would think YTTV would be getting NFL Network sooner or later though right? I don't watch it a ton, but I do like flipping it on once and awhile.
Just switched to YTTV from Vue - didn’t realize that the only channels I’d miss by switching would be NFL Network & Longhorn Network, & I hardly watch either one as it is now.
PS Vue is now $5 more expensive than YTTV for the package I had, so figured I’d try it out before football season gets going - also liked the prospect of an essentially unlimited DVR instead of the 28 day one with Vue. I like the guide on YTTV better (scroll down as opposed to left to right like Vue’s), but I’m using an Apple TV 4K...it may be set up differently on other devices for each service.
I have a Roku Ultra and a TCL smart tv that comes with it pre-installed and both of those have YTTV with the same interface which matches what Zebbie described with his Apple TV.
Same here, and any version of the YTTV interface is light years better than the Vue interface (when I last saw it about 6 months ago).
I think he was talking about the Vue interface being different across different devices...I’ve heard that complaint before but never experienced it first-hand.
Yeah the Vue interface on Roku is far and away the worst. Still manageable but it’s like a 12 year old wrote the code.
All I use is a Roku. I have Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video and HBOGO. I pay for 1 of these things. What should I get, especially with Football season coming up? I don't have a Playstation, just XBoxOne
YTTV unless you need the ACC Network - if you need that, have fun with Sling’s bullshit because I think they’re the only one that has it so far.
I cancelled DTVNow after they jacked up the prices. Im going to see if there are any deals come football season, but I may be all set. I've got OTA and a friend who is a big sports/tv junkie and has a cable package with everything. He lets me use his login to use apps, so ESPN, FoxSports, NFL/RZ, and NBCSports/Golf are covered. I'll see how this goes the first few weeks of the season. Does Vue offer any discounts for PS Plus subscribers?
I do YTTV and then just buy a standalone Sunday Ticket package (with .edu address) each fall. You get the better Red Zone channel that way.
Does anyone use CinemaHD on firestick or any other sort of streaming app where they've used Real Debrid service in it? I'm a subscriber and having issues with Real Debrid links coming up. My service is still active, yet no links and its not a VPN issue.
https://firestickstevescablecutters.com Anyone heard of or used Fire Stick Steve? AT&T guy was installing internet in my house this weekend and was hyping it. $10/month for every channel and every event.
