My rides have been garbage lately. The last few months have been some of the most hectic I can remember. In a sort of spur of the moment deal, we decided to uproot our lives and move. Agreed to build a house, listed our house, found a rental to live in while building, sold our house and moved in rental in the span of like 3 months. Lots of stress and long nights along the way, so my diet really suffered. We’re somewhat settled now so I’m hopeful to get back in a good routine.
Yeah have just built back up as I was coming out of busy season and didn't ride much January through March. Gotten into a good groove. We are about to move back to Indy and go into a (hopefully lighter busy season) but out of town. Really hoping to keep the momentum.
After a solid 7+ month hiatus I’m trying to get back into the rhythm of riding daily. Started with a couple 20 minute rides and did a 30 today. Stamina and strength are nowhere near where I was when I was riding everyday this time last year. Pretty depressing to be well over 100 points off my previous PR pace. Looking forward to contributing to this thread again.
Did a 45 min. advanced boot camp at hotel the other day. One of the best feeling workouts I've ever done. Will definitely be working those in more and more.
No, I used the treadmill at the hotel and it also had free weights. Worked perfectly. I will use the app while running outside when/if the weather cools down.
I've done some outdoor runs on vacation and they are pretty good. Like anything on Peloton, they are instructor dependent. But, for me, a noted non-runner, it was certainly better than me trying to run on my own and trying to keep a certain pace or plan. The new GPS tracking feature is great, too.
I’ve decided that I won’t buy tonal unless peloton buys them and hopefully includes it in the current subscription plan or marginally higher
Was just looking at it and Wow, its $50 a month just for the subscription after you pay off the machine.
Did a 30 minute shoulder/arm circuit class followed by a ten minute cool down ride yesterday. I think i'll do 30 HIIT with Robin and some kind of floor class today.
I’ve been better the past two weeks but I’m still so far off my PR pace. So hard to get it back and so easy to lose it.
i'm going to try a tabata class today. just 15 minutes because i'm a coward but you have to start somewhere. wish me luck.
Honestly I would think Peloton starts considering marginal increases to subscription here sometime in the next year. That way they get an added bump when they IPO on subscription revenue. As they continue to expand services, especially if they purchase other services wouldn't be surprised if they wind up purchasing another subscription entity.
After a couple weeks I'm actually really surprised how few live classes there are. I expected them to be much more frequent. I guess they just have one love studio? At this point they need to expand the live offerings.
What do you get out of a live class that you don’t get from an OD class? A milestone shoutout is literally the only thing.
yo tabata fucking sucks. i'm not even sure if i did it right (this was a climb tabata ride? maybe all 15 min tabata ones are?) so i was taking my resistence down every 10 seconds lol still did really well. beat my previous 15 min best (not that i ride a ton of 15 min rides) by 80 kj... so that's like almost 60%.
Best way to tell if you're doing Tabata right is ask yourself "does this totally suck?". If the answer is yes, you're doing it right.
Was telling a friend today that this is the most impressed I’ve been with a purchase since the iPhone
No. Obviously he is great athlete but I think his height and not being an endurance athlete will hinder him.
I think I saw hugh Jackman with a 840 on a 45 minute ride a little over a year ago when I first purchased there bike. That was nuts.
do the longer tabata rides give you a little break in between the intervals or is it straight 20 on/10 off for 30 and 45 min? because if it's the latter, that's fucking insane. i don't think i'd ever be in shape to do that kind of ride for 45 minutes.
