I don’t understand some people being pissed at Portman being brought back into the franchise. She’s a fantastic actor, and, let’s be honest, the only reason her character fell flat in the first two films was due to the writing. Give her a role she can be excited about playing, which Taika obviously has, and she’s going to knock it out of the park. Thor has Stormbreaker. She will get Mjolnir. I think it sounds like one hell of a fun movie in concept.
I'm kinda 50/50 on NP. When she's good she's great but she definitely has a tendency to phone things in
If she agreed to come back, then I feel like she’s excited about Jane’s new role. She could have easily said no. It’s not like Portman is having trouble finding work at this point in her career. She seemed excited at the panel, and I really doubt she phones this one in. Honestly, I’ve watched all of Taika’s shows/movies, and I’ve never seen an actor phone it in for him.
It’s because she didn’t want to do Thor 2. She is known to be done and didn’t want to be a part of it anymore
We have all seen Portman’s capability on screen when she is committed to a role. We have also seen what Feige can do as far as long term vision. Also how Taiki can reinvent characters and get the most out of actors. Do you really think that combination is a 50/50 shot at a great Jane Foster Thor?
Why would Marvel have to do that for anyone? They could honestly be low balling people at this point if they wanted to
Did they shed any light on this new Thor movie in regards to how large/minor Hemsworth will be? Is it going to be majority Natalie Portman and Hemsworth will be a minor character? Or more like a Batman & Robin-type dynamic?
Spoiler easy workaround to the question he had was Natalie Portman becoming the female Thor or jumping her straight into being the Valkyrie type of character that Jane currently is in comics
I checked it when Fiege made that announcement and they were 5 million short. I wonder where that 5.5 million came from overnight.
Well sure, but if you adjust for inflation Gone with the Wind beats all. What matters most is that Endgame's first run beat Avatar's first run. That was like a month ago. The rest has been window dressing.
I mean if you're going for adjusted for inflation ain't nothing beating Gone with the Wind in any lifetime.
this has probably already been discussed but imagine the worst MCU film rankings you could dream up and see if it is actually worse than polygon's list https://www.polygon.com/2019/5/5/18...mcu-movies-avengers-infinity-saga-ranked-list Spoiler 20. infinity war 19. thor: the dark world
I know nothing about Polygon but IM2 falling so low because Stark is a womanizer, and BP being #2, tells me just about everything I need to.
I expect 2022 to be Black Panther 2 in February GOTG vol 3 in May Blade in November 2023 will probably be Captain Marvel 2 in February or March The Fantastic Four in May Ant-Man/Wasp 3 in July

Pretty cool article up on yahoo. My favorite part is Ali coming up to the marvel guys and asking what’s going on with blade. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/marvels-next-films-bring-diversity-234907353.html
