Great stage, doesn't get much better than that. Tour has really been great so far since Ineos hasn't been able to grind away all the enjoyment, yet. J.A. is a true joy to watch, perhaps more than any other athlete in any sport at this moment in time for me.

Canyon and Alpecin pulling out of sponsorship of an entire World Tour team, for the sole aim of sponsoring one guy, who is currently focusing on MTB until 2021, is pretty crazy.

This post, and his win today, made me realize i had a typo in my earlier post. Viviani is rumored to be leaving for Cofidis at the end of this year.

lol at Gaimon. I usually like him but the TdF is basically gushing all over The Cannibal this year and he had more positive tests than Armstrong ever did.

Moving on though... I am a little behind but seeing a yellow jersey at the front of a leadout train in a sprint stage is so damn refreshing to see. I know it is early in the tour and he is not expected to hold it long but still.

I purchased this on Craigslist for $100. I know nothing about cycling, but live downtown and want to start riding to work, dinner, etc. rather than driving.

The frame, gears, brakes etc. seem to be okay but it needs new tires. The seller suggested I look for a wider tire since I’ll be using it exclusively for cruising short distances.

Suggestions on tires, or any other general advise would be appreciated.

Well seeing as you spent 100 any tires will do. Head down to your local bike shop and buy stock tires.

Merckx getting popped was like getting popped in MLB for taking Greenie Meanies in 1970s. Helped a bit but nothing like Lance and his EPO doping.

Anywho. Great win for Teuns today. Came into the TDF at 949-1 odds to win.

Don’t expect him to win but he’s a good tt’er and climber so who knows.

Either doping is cheating or it isn’t. Merckx was taking the drugs available during his time to gain an advantage.

Was nice to see a breakaway win a stage. He was pretty awesome on that home stretch. That was a killer route today.

Yesterday’s stage was pretty awesome. Also was pretty comical to hear Phil freaking out about the Peloton was going to catch the race leaders with 1.5km to go. Forget about the 2.5 minute lead.

Great start for Jumbo-Visma. Three stage wins so far, and two guys in top 10 of GC who will likely be there in the end. Couldn't ask for much more than that. If Gronenwegen was healthy, he prolly woulda beat Viviani too.

I think it looked like a more impressive attack than it was. We didn't see the beginning of the attack on camera, but it happened on a flatter section, and then he caught Alaphillipe on the steepest section, and blew past. Alaphillipe was completely cracking at that point though, after going all out for three+ days straight. Then Thomas started struggling himself and Pinot closed Thomas down, which is kinda what you'd expect to happen.

I like G though. His diet is insane. I read an article that he has to send the team a picture of every single ounce of anything he eats, because keeping his weight low enough to be where it needs is a huge struggle for him, and it's the only way he can stick to it. If he comes in overweight they'll know he was lying to them.

Hahaha. When I read that he was pulled from the race I immediately thought of you MA

It's sad. The kid has/had the talent, but something on the mental side of the sport has always gotten to him.

He came up through the Rabobank system. I've always wondered if he would've stayed there, instead of joining the American teams, if he would've been better off.

Just watched the last 40km of today’s stage again. Sheezus, De Gendt put every single rider in the Peloton in the red. They couldn’t even muster a sprint at the end.

Pinot and Alaphilippe both looked fantastic as well.

Even if he’s cheating like hell this has been one of the best TsDF. Photo finishes. Successful breakaways. No repeat stage winners until #13. Young riders living up to the hype. Sagan still crushing it.

Another dandy of a stage, esp. with Thomas dropped. Ineos no longer able to exert control (so far at least) is keeping this a great tour. And more France! at the top of the stage standings.

Impressed Phil can still get crazy excited when Richie Porte cracks, like he does every...single...time.

Stages 18, 19, and 20 are gonna be wild. Anything is still on the table with Ineos looking like they can't just run their train over every climb now.

I don't think Alaphilippe did any altitude training whatsoever coming into the tour, as he wasn't really planning to go for GC, so he's probably going to fade pretty hard in the third week, unfortunately. But who knows.

Holy shit, another crazy stage. Also once again...

Pinot appears to be riding on another level than the rest of of the contenders right now. If he has some luck and his team doesn’t make another epic goof, he could be the guy to beat.

After the way he has killed these last 2 stages that rest day is going to be huge.

Been a great tour this year. People actually attacking and like 5 people could still win it all. Such a joy that there isnt one team just crushing everyones hopes every single stage.

    agree 100%.

The sprints being completely up for grabs has been fun too. Not just one sprinter dominating.

Tomorrow could be a tricky day. Especially with folks looking ahead to 3 straight mountainous days on Th-F-S. Whomever tops the Sentinelle first should win this easily unless they're a dogshit descender.
