How do you guys expect Emery to use Ceballos? Happy that it's just a 1 year loan because I think he'll end up being very, very good
Does Emery still play with just a man 3 midfield? Ceballos has shown he can play box to box but is at his best in a slightly more advanced role.
We mostly played 3-5-2 because we had no wingers and our fullbacks can't defend but plan is to start the year with 4 man backline and we still have no wingers so 3-4 man midfield(if you count a 10 as a mid) will be happening a lot He should get a lot of minutes though one of our most promising youths is pushing for playing time in that 8/10 role as well. Ozil doesn't play away games so that helps his cause.
Doing Madrid’s development for them while possibly stunting or delaying that of your own players/prospects; not having an option to buy leaves a hole in the midfield moving into next year if it’s a successful loan.
also one player on loan really isn’t going to make that big of a difference. there are plenty of minutes to go around and really only one young player in that spot that may have gotten them otherwise. he’ll still get plenty of chances to develop.
If they don’t place in the top 4, it’s curtains. They don’t have the ability to spend to fix the problems so they have to be creative. Not sure who’s growth will be stunted. Willock? He will still have plenty of opportunities
We need cheap fixes and Zidane doesn't like him, imagine if the spell is successful then have a chance to buy him unless he's crazy good we're paying his wages and giving them a fee, this isn't Denis Suarez. This is the best player at U19 and U21 euros, he's really really fucking good in the right setup.
Owsley we also can't address all of our holes with our shoestring summer budget. It's our reality, a means to an end... top 4 or bust
I’d imagine a lot of things would happen that inexplicably don’t with this club regarding the transfer market. Hopefully the new front office has its shit together but I’ll believe it when I see it.
It sounds like his injury is not worth the money they're asking for .. and he may not be ready to start the season anyway as he isn't even running yet (both Holding and Bellerin are and they won't be available at the start of the season). I hope we go after Junior Firpo - we were linked with him last year but Barca may be interested in him.
Agreed and I’m honesty kinda relieved they are off Kierney. Always has seemed like he is a risk to miss a big chunk of this season potentially
I'm cool with not buying him, I just really hope there's a plan b. especially if we want to see a back four, which I think most of us do.
Love Firpo but think his next move will be to a bigger club than us right now. Doubt we could afford him either. Is the Tierney deal officially dead or just rumblings?
All I saw was Celtic’s manager saying there’s been no 3rd bid and he hopes they’ve done enough to keep him
80% of missed penalty calamaties/fuck ups happen when the shooter pauses during his run up. Pick a corner, run up smoothly and hit it with pace. 99% success rate. That said, good job Laca.
I forget Jenks is still technically on the books. I think he’d be happy as a boot shiner for the club. Top lad.
If that's a penalty, John Terry and Rio Ferdinand would have given up 40 penalties a year. Fuck off, Stewart.
