Bodine is bad and needs to be replaced after this year. Bengals haven't had a quality center since Richie Brahm retired. Hopefully Ogbuehi's play and communication with the rest of the ol improves as the year goes on.

Losing Billings for the year sucked because our NT's are bad. Peko is terrible and Sims is mediocre. Hunt at least showed something today but the depth behind the starters is not very good. The mediocre lb's playing behind them don't help the run defense either, that's where we really need Burfict back.

I also would have no issue with them drafting Orlando Brown, but it would need to be in a later round.

Bengals land Cordy Glenn in trade with Bills

The Bengals get a huge upgrade along their offensive line.
    By Jason Marcum@marcum89 Mar 12, 2018, 4:27pm EDTSHARE
    [IMG]Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports
The Cincinnati Bengals have found their next left tackle.

According to ESPN reporter Josina Anderson, the Bengals are trading for Buffalo Billsoffensive tackle Cordy Glenn. According to NFL Network reporter Peter Schrager, the Bengals will swap first-round picks with Buffalo, moving from No. 12 to the No. 21 pick in Round 1. The Bengals will get the Bills’ fifth-round pick, and the Bills get the Bengals’ sixth-round pick.

This is huge news for a Bengals team that desperately needed offensive line help, especially at offensive tackle. Glenn will almost certainly take over the left tackle spot and replace Cedric Ogbuehi, who clearly isn’t an NFL tackle.

Since being a second-round pick out of Georgia in the 2012 NFL Draft, Glenn has been a full-time starter at left tackle for Buffalo. That includes 77 starts but he missed 10 games due to injury in 2017. He’s actually missed 15 games due to injury over the last two seasons, which is part of why Buffalo wanted to shed his contract.

5 positions the Bengals should target in free agency[/paste:font]
Bengals will have about $15 million to spend in NFL free agency
Glenn was injured throughout the 2017 season, which led to him having his worst season when he was healthy. Pro Football Focus gave him a meager 68.1 grade, but that came after four-straight seasons of 82.3 or better.

There was some thought the Bengals could spend a high draft pick on an offensive tackle this year, but with the acquisition of Glenn, they can now be more flexible with the No. 21 overall pick.

Glenn has spent the majority of his career at left tackle in Buffalo. He’s had some good seasons along with some so-so ones, but even his worst years have been significantly better than what the Bengals have had since Andrew Whitworth left in the 2017 offseason.

In terms of salary, Glenn is set to have a $9.25 million base salary, $2 million roster bonus and in total a $11.25 million cap hit in 2018, according to Spotrac. His 2019 cap hit would be $9.25 million and in 2020 $9.5 million. But, there’s an out in his contract in 2019 where the Bengals could part ways with him and save $41.25 million while owing $0 in dead cap money. That offers a great opportunity for the Bengals if Glenn doesn’t work out or proves not to be worth the money.

When healthy, Glenn has proved worthy of the money, so hopefully he stays healthy and plays his heart out in Cincinnati. It’ll be nice for him to reunite with his former Georgia Bulldogs teammate Clint Boling who he’ll be playing right next to. At Georgia, Boling played left tackle and Glenn played left guard. In Cincinnati, they’ll be swapping roles but still playing alongside each other.

Who do you want in the first few rounds? I’d be cool with McGlinchey and then trading up a bit in round two to get a center. Would love to get either Price, Daniels, or Ragnow at 46 but I just can’t see any of them being there.

I doubt McGlinchey is there at 21 but if he is I'd love to take him. If he's gone I would be fine with taking one of the C's at 21 though I'd prefer they trade back. I think you could get one of the top C's late first/early second. With two 3rds and three 5ths I'd like to see them trade up to get two 2nd round picks but I doubt that happens. Just don't take a CB, WR or QB in the first three rounds.

Have any of you tailgated in Lot 1 before? Reason I ask, my buddy is talking about a big tailgate there, DJ and all, and apparently it's $10 a person for all food and beer prior to game. I don't believe it, guess time will tell in a couple hours.

Lot 1 is my favorite place to tailgate. You’re under highway overpasses so they provide shade and cover for different parts of the year. You’re also super close to the stadium unlike longworth hall so the walk in is quick. It’s just like any other lot though with lots of spaces and lots of different tailgates so not sure about the $10. Sounds like a good deal though.

Bengals season ticket holder makes non-negotiable offer

    posted by Lance McAlister

I received this email last week. I find it to be an interesting exchange between the Bengals ticket office and a season ticket holder. The season ticket holder makes a non-negotiable offer for his return in 2019.

    -------

    From the Bengals:

    Hi Tim,

Hope you have enjoyed coming out to the games this season. Looking ahead to 2019 we recently went on sale with our season ticket deposits.

The deposit goes towards your overall cost of the season tickets. It will essentially work as your first payment. They are time stamped as well so the sooner you put one down, the better your time slot is for choosing seats.

Placing a deposit allows you to take full advantage of our interest free payment plans.

We also have a limited amount of complimentary tickets to the December 16th game vs. Oakland Raiders when you place your deposit.

    What are your thoughts?

    -----------------

Response from season ticket holder Tim:

Thanks for your message and for asking about my thoughts regarding your offer below. Since you asked, here they are:

I have had half season or full season tickets every year since PBS opened. After Marvin Lewis was renamed head coach for 2018 I swore I was done with Bengals season tickets but caved when the Jungle passes were offered for $20 a game in the same section in which I was previously paying $50 per game. That said, there are a few things I need to know before considering tickets for next year.

1 - I need confirmation that Marvin Lewis and Hue Jackson are both fired and that they won't be allowed to have access to PBS, players and the facility.

2 - I need assurance the new coaching staff understands basic football principles such as: Timeouts have value, clock management is important, penalties are bad and especially real accountability for performance, which is something ownership and coaches have lacked since 1991.

3 - Cincinnati needs new leadership. Are there any indications that Mike Brown will step down as the GM of the team? Last thing the Bengals need is another first round WR that can't do his job while the QB runs for his life and the offensive line gets FOUR false start and numerous holding penalties in week 13 of the season.

4 - Cincinnati deserves new ownership. Are there any rumors that the Brown family would sell the majority share of the team? If their controlling share was reduced to < 50% it would be a step in the right direction.

5 - Ticket price reduction. While the Jungle pass deal seemed good on paper at $20 a ticket, I still strongly feel I overpaid. I'd be willing to renew my same seats (or better) for $10 a game. Price is non-negotiable! For $20 I could have seen 2 movies and even if it was the same movie twice I can assure you I'd have found it more entertaining than the Bengals games this season.

Lastly, thanks for the offer of complimentary tickets to the December 16th game vs. the Raiders. You should note that I had tickets to the December 2nd Denver Broncos game on unusually beautiful day and elected to stay home. I took a nap during the actual game and don't regret it. My only regret was while sleeping and not watching the debacle, errrr I mean game, I failed to submit a #Tweetsigot to Lance Mc Alister, as I made his list the week before.

Best of luck selling season tickets for 2019. Based on attendance in 2018 I'm pretty sure I have plenty of time to pull the trigger. I hope you consider my non-negotiable offer (#5 above) and as long as criteria 1 - 4 are met I'll be back in the jungle to perhaps see the Bengals actually beat the Steelers.

    Best Regards,

    Tim

Anyone besides Marvin would have made me excited. I’m glad they went with a young offensive coach though after being behind the times with play calling for the last decade. I’m interested to see how he uses the skill players we have on offense and what he can make of Dalton. Also need to see a quality dc hired. The Bengals don’t fire coaches quickly (obs) so he’s going to get his chance.
