Everybody was worried about how moving to Indy would go. I'm sure there is another school that could bring good drama. It just needs to be a school that is bringing in a bunch of knuckle heads with off the field problems. Whether the coach is a clown or not is only part of the formula. It can absolutely succeed if they are following a legitimately good coach as long as the players are entertaining.
Garden city might still be an interesting follow. Iirc, the Arizona Western Coach is there plus the whole player dying and the HC bolting. If they went back to EMCC buddy would be even more insufferable than normal.
I really thought he was going to go off and break the cue stick. I just have a hard time feeling bad for that dude.
Isaiah Wright is another dude that I don't see anything good happening for him. That's a mix of the system and his on issues.
I liked the EMCC episodes much more than the Indy episodes. For some reason, I think I found the EMCC coach and kids had a little more depth. They were idiots and assholes, but they had redeemable qualities. They just couldn't seem to keep themselves in line. That's probably due in a large part to the Ms. Wagner figure that the Indy seasons are missing. I feel like for the most part, the Indy kids are kind of binary. You're either a good kid or you're a bad kid. And Coach Brown is just an irredeemable idiot in my mind. Buddy was an asshole but he had a few moments of self reflection, even if he never actually changed because of it. JB is just a dick 24/7 to everyone.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Ronald "Ollie" Williams (DT from the 1st season) signed with the Raiders. Probably won't make it beyond the practice squad, but I think it's a miracle he made it that far.
the "where are they now" episode isn't new. pretty sure I watched it last year edit: maybe not. the isaiah wright stuff is from the first episode but the sentencing scene looks new
Watching the Indy seasons for the first time, 1. Everything about Malik Henry sucks 2. Brown would be miserable to be around for so many reasons
Yeah, when Miss Wags says she’s worked with 400 football athletes, and of those, 1-2 have probably made enough money in the NFL to live off of...that’s wild.
Honestly, that single episode should be shown to every high school and college team in the country. It shows the cautionary tales and the longest of long shots making it. I’d argue Ronald Ollie is the biggest success story of the entire series, so far. Kid came in as a typical JUCO kid and is now a grown ass man, both physically and mentally. And that dude signed with an NFL team! No matter what happens now, he’s made it.
Four players from all seasons, cannot believe Franklin is one of them. Ronald Ollie, Oakland Raiders Dakota Allen, Los Angeles Rams John Franklin III, Chicago Bears Everyone's favorite aggravating QB overstuffed with bravado is now...a defensive back with the Bears! While he attempts the transition, he's working off a reserve/future contract, signed on Jan. 9. C. J. Reavis, Jacksonville Jaguars
1) JF3 speed is undeniable. he's always needed to try another position other than QB. 2) who is CJ Reavis? don't remember him from any seasons.
And lol at the guy that declared for the draft early....from a D2 school. And then subsequently went undrafted and unsigned. You gotta have more self awareness than that.
Reavis was a DB out of Virginia Tech, I only remember one scene with him playing Madden, guessing he kept his head down for the most part
He said he had lots of NFL interest, my guess is there were a few scouts that asked for his tape and some teams said yeah we are looking at you. So he thought for sure that we was going to get a look.
It’s like the kid that ends up on some college’s mailing list and gets a bunch of mail outs and tells people he’s being recruited.
I think they showed it in the bonus episode; Dwayne Allen's brother played a huge part in training Ollie, along with serving as his mentor and motivator, So, props to him and Dwayne for helping to turn that kid's life around. Just imagine having your mom shot by your father, living in poverty and having the disturbing amount of self-doubt he had. Like you said, he is the biggest success story.
Garden City would be the natural choice, but I believe they were supposed to go there before choosing Independence and the school's administration shot it down. I thought they should've gone to Arizona Western after EMCC.
Yeah him and Marcel Andry are the two best characters of the series. Andry now coaches at Nicholls State iirc so great to see both finding success.
There are two bad parts. A couple streets behind the library (Meadows) and when you go out toward St. Rose. Pretty much the rest is upper middle class and above.
Correct. He got screwed over by the student honor council, cost VT hard on the field because dude was legit. He was a normal dude so of course he wasn't featured.
Side note: Was the RB ever interviewed this season? Because every time they showed footage of the offense doing something positive, it was always the RB. And I have zero recollection of who he actually was.
The offense was pure trash, lol look at these numbers. The QB's were a combined 154-333 (46.2%) for 1723 yards, 10 TD, 15 INT. But yeah, looking at the numbers, the RB's were the highlight. They should've talked a lot more to Kuony Deng, the pass rusher who was a transfer from VMI and had SEC offers, signed with Cal. http://njcaa.org/sports/fball/2018-19/teams/independencecommunitycollege?view=lineup
100% Rumor Alert A buddy of mine and SC is a head track and field coach at a Mississippi JUCO. Anyways, his AD told him that the rumor is Last Chance U is taking a look at South Plains (TX) CC’s basketball program for the next season. Would be a good call. It’s in the middle of West Texas, near Lubbock. They’re a national powerhouse and the coach has been there forever. It’s just too bad they didn’t do it when Marshall Henderson played there. Again, this is 100000000% rumor.
I would think basketball is a much riskier for s TV show. Only 12-15 dudes so you better hope there are some good characters. Much more chance of finding good characters on a football roster
