Just finished binge watching and I completely agree with this. This show really gives me mixed emotions. It's enormously entertaining and the acting, setting and dialogue are all incredible but I feel like the plot of each season has been pretty lazy and at times very predictable and annoying. I still loved it but I normally have big issues with shows and movies like this. The other stuff is just that overpowering I suppose
If the bullet went straight through it should not have killed him. Wonder if that's a twist for next season.
Yeah, I can't imagine him coming back especially with the cancer. He disappeared and got out of the game.
Luca was legit one of the worst characters of all time for me. Still wrapped it up well IMO, I didn't need a full episode of Tommy losing his mind next season to drive the point home.
Watched all 4 seasons in a week. Loved the show. It was good enough for me to look past Adrien Brody's character in the show. Equally as bad was Aberama Carcetti Littlefinger.
Just finished and I understand the Changretta dislike. I tried to forget it was Adrien Brody and that kind of helped.
Spoiler also Arthur Shelby has become one of my favorite characters in tv/movies going so I enjoyed that little twist.
Finished season 1 earlier tonight. I laughed aloud when the cop proposed to Grace. Like... what? Cillian Murphy is cool also
Just finished all four seasons Season 3 is the best one imo. Season 4 the worst, the Italian guys were so fucking boring at no point was i excited to see them plus the finale was kind of lazy. “hey we talked to Al capone. goodbye” Loved the first 3 seasons. liked the 4th. a very great flow. no dull moments and i think the 6 ep a season is a huge plus. hope they get back to form with season 5. Im gonna miss Alfie, Tom Hardy was incredible.
Peaky Blinders enjoyed one of its strongest runs to date in 2017, with series four seeing the Shelby clan face off against mob boss Luca Changretta (Adrien Brody). Bar one big casualty (RIP John Shelby), Tommy and co. largely emerged from the gang war unscathed, which is perhaps unsurprising given that the BBC commissioned the fourth and fifth series of the show at the same time. What's more, creator Steven Knight is now planning the sixth and seventh series, with series seven expected to mark the end of the show. "My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars, so always I've wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939. It'll take three more series [to reach that point]," he explained.
I love the show but season 4 wasnt one of its strongest runs. excited for 3 seasons more. Also RIP to the true casualty of season 4: Alfie Solomons.
https://www.esquire.com/uk/latest-news/a28332232/peaky-blinders-season-5-could-split-fan-opinion/ According to series regular Packy Lee, though, the new series - which he reckons is "by far" the best to date - could split fans with some "big, big scenes," and that there's now "a lot more at stake" for the Shelby family. Lee, who plays Johnny Dogs, was reflecting on how his role's expanded over the seasons from what was supposed to be a single day's filming, and why he's stuck around for so long. "I have asked them several times why they brought me back, and they said it was my energy, and the comic relief that came out of my character," Lee told BelfastLive. "It is something they wanted to exploit. And believe me, they have exploited it in season five." Can't wait for that. But what can you give away, Packy? "I can't give too much away, but there are a few funny scenes," Lee went on. "And some big, big scenes which we don't know how people are going to take them." That sounds extremely foreboding. Lee also said that there's likely to be at least two more seasons after the upcoming fifth, with writer Steven Knight keen to hit a solid seven at least. "The boss man wants to go to seven, maybe eight. So it could rumble on. That's the beautiful thing of the show," he said.
I’m ok with them taking a while between seasons to keep the quality at top tier where it is. And because rewatching a few seasons or the whole show can be done in under a week. Started a full rewatch this week and already at season 3. So damn good. Decided to watch this time using subtitles. Finally know what Tom Hardy said in season 2!
You’re right. It was already “an option” on that TeaTV thing but no streams because it doesn’t air until tonight. First episode was the same ole amazing show as always. Fully equipped with a couple of the “Marching down small heath with badass music playing” scenes. Spoiler: ep1 thoughts Fuck Linda. I bet she dies by the end of the season “by accident” foreshadowing in this episode that Tommy is going to kill some people that are in the Shelby’s Co with the whole “death is a requirement sometimes” stuff. Fuck lizzie. Bitch you’re a Ho that got knocked up and Finn isn’t your damn kid Michael got fucked up on that American gold digger pussy and Tokyo
anyone else watching? really enjoying this season. heavy Trump vibes from Mosley in this last episode.
